Nação Nordestina is the fifteenth studio album and first double album by Brazilian solo artist Zé Ramalho. It was released in 2000. The cover art of the album is clearly based on The Beatles' ''Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band''. It is a concept album which tells the history of a traveller exploring the Northeast Region, Brazil, Northeastern Brazil. Gilberto Passos Gil Moreira (; born 26 June 1942), is a Brazilian singer-songwriter and politician, known for both his musical innovation and political activism. The ''sertão'' (, plural ''sertões'') is the "hinterland" or "backcountry". In Brazil, it refers both to one of the four sub-regions of the Northeast Region of Brazil (similar to the specific association of "outback" with Australia in English) or the hinterlands of the country in general. Northeast Brazil is largely covered in a scrubby upland forest called a '' caatingas.'' Its borders are not precise.
