Nazlı Süleyman
Natalie Suleyman (born Nazlı Süleyman on 6 June 1974) is an Australian politician, representing the safe seat electorate of St Albans in the Victorian Legislative Assembly. She is a member of the Australian Labor Party. She is the first person of Turkish Cypriot origin, as well as the first Muslim woman, to be elected to the Victorian Parliament. Early life Political career Local Politics Natalie was first elected to political office as a councillor at the City of Brimbank in 2000. She was re-elected in 2003 and 2005, and was mayor on three occasions. State Politics In 2008, Natalie unsuccessfully contested Labor preselection for the seat of Kororoit. In 2014 Natalie was preselected by the Labor Party to contest the seat of St Albans. George Seitz (politician)
George Seitz (29 September 1941 – 5 June 2015) was an Australian Labor Party politician who was a member of the Legislative Assembly in Victoria. Seitz migrated to Australia with his family in 1956, and became a member of the Labor Party (ALP) in 1971. A teacher at St. Albans Technical School, in 1982, he was elected to represent the Keilor electorate. He served as Labor's whip while the party was in Opposition during the 1990s. On 13 May 2006, ''The Age'' newspaper in Melbourne published two articles alleging that Seitz had been involved in branch stacking within his electorate, using the proceeds of community bingo games and a rental apartment to pay for memberships to the Labor Party. 3ZZZ (''3 Triple Zed'') is an ethnic community radio station in Melbourne, Victoria that currently broadcasts programs in over 70 languages on 92.3 MHz FM and is licensed to Mount Dandenong. 3ZZZ is Australia's largest community multilingual radio station, with estimates at over 400,000 listeners, providing an independent, alternative and local voice in the media. A Migrant Resource Centre or MRC is an Australian community-based organisation that provides settlement services for Immigration, migrants and refugees. The main purpose of MRCs is to cater to the immediate and longer term needs of migrants and refugees to facilitate successful integration into their local community and enable them to reach their full potential. MRC's provide information and referral services and assistance with finding and keeping employment to newly arrived migrants and refugees. MRCs also provide services for aged and disabled members of ethnic communities who prefer to access ethno-specific services. Henryk Sławik
Henryk Sławik (16 July 1894 – 23 August 1944) was a Polish politician in the interwar period, social worker, activist, and diplomat, who during World War II helped save over 30,000 Polish refugees, including 5,000 Polish Jews in Budapest, Hungary, by giving them false Polish passports with Catholic designation. He was executed with some of his fellow Polish activists on order of Reichsführer SS in concentration camp Gusen on 23 August 1944.
