Nikolai Grigorievich Nazarenko (19 December 1911 – 20 November 1992) was a Don Cossack emigre leader who served as president of the World Federation of the Cossack National Liberation Movement of Cossackia and the Cossack American Republican National Federation. Emigre and spy Nazarenko was born in Starocherkasskaya in the territory of the Don Cossack Host. The Don Cossacks in common with the other Cossack Hosts of the Russian empire were a privileged group, being granted exemption from taxation, allowed to own their own land and to elect most of the officials of the Host government (through not the ''ataman'' who headed the Host who was always appointed by the Emperor) in exchange for serving as one of the main bulwarks of the House of Romanov. The culture of the Cossacks was centered around riding horses and warfare. Viktor Nazarenko ( uk, Віктор Олександрович Назаренко, be, Віктар Назаранка; born 5 March 1956, in Minsk) is a Ukrainian military leader, Soviet veteran of the Afghan war (1979–89) and doctor of military sciences. From October 2014 until July 2017 Nazarenko was the head of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine. Biography Born in Minsk, in 1977 Nazarenko graduated from the Higher Military-Political College in Lviv (today Sahaidachny Academy of Ground Forces) and then served in the Lviv Border Guard detachment of the Western Border Guard District. Serhiy Yuriyovych Nazarenko (born 16 February 1980) is a Ukrainian amateur footballer who plays for AM-Estate Dnipro. He is known for having played as a midfielder for now-defunct Ukrainian football club Dnipro, its farm clubs Dnipro-2 and Dnipro-3, as well as Crimea-based Tavriya. Nazarenko played with the Ukraine national football team between 2003 and 2012 and was called up for the 2006 World Cup and UEFA Euro 2012. Hryhory Pavlovych Nazarenko (13/X/1902 Poltava, in the Poltava Governorate of the Russian Empire, in present-day Ukraine - 1997 Detroit, United States) was a bandura player. Hryhory Nazarenko was one of the founding members of the Poltava Bandurist Capella which was established in Poltava in 1925. He had a brilliant first tenor voice and soon became one of the prominent soloist of the ensemble. In 1935 he was enlisted into the newly formed combined Kiev Bandurist Capella where in time he became concertmaster. A number of his arrangements were recorded on record in the 1930s and he also was featured on a number of recordings as tenor soloist. In 1937 Nazarenko was slated to become artistic director of the chorus, but was sidestepped when the choice fell to Danylo Pika because of his membership in the Communist party.
