Navyug Schools
Navyug School, often referred to as a school for gifted children, is an experimental school for the talented children . It was founded in 1973 by New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) under the auspices of Navyug School Education Society. The first of the 11 branches is in Sarojini Nagar, New Delhi. The first principal of the school was J. N. Dar, an Eton college alumnus. After the success of this school, NDMC opened 10 more branches in Delhi. All branches are run by Navyug School Education Society and funded by NDMC. The selection of students is through a stringent written test followed by an interview. The students and the teachers go through a rigorous screening procedure, making these schools at par with any good private school in India. Its recent branch opened in Mandir Marg. Navyug School at Sarojini Nagar has 1200 students on its roll, and the demand for admission is increasing each passing year. New Delhi Municipal Council
New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) is the municipal council of the city of New Delhi, Delhi, India. It covers an area of 42.7 km2 under its administration, which is commonly referred as Lutyens' Delhi. The only owner is Government of India and about 80% of buildings in New Delhi are owned by the New Delhi Municipal council area. It is governed by a council headed by a chairperson, who is usually a career civil servant and holds the rank of Joint Secretary to Government of India appointed by Government of India. The council also includes the Chief Minister of Delhi as an Ex officio member. It is one of three local bodies in the National Capital Territory of Delhi, the others being Municipal Corporation of Delhi and Delhi Cantonment Board. Eton College () is a public school in Eton, Berkshire, England. Vidyaben Shah
Vidyaben Shah (7 November 1922 – 19 June 2020) was an Indian social worker and activist known for her work with children, women and the elderly in India. While she was already serving as Vice-President, she was appointed the first non-officio President of the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) by Prime Minister Indira Gandhi in 1975. She has held several leading positions in the field of social welfare since the 1940s. Vidyaben Shah died at the age of 97 on 19 June 2020 at her residence in Delhi, her son Mihir Shah confirmed the news of Vidyaben Shah death. Early years and background Vidyaben was born in the town of Jetpur, Gujarat, to educationist Vrajlal Mehta and Champaben Mody.
