Navrongo Senior High School
History Navrongo Senior High School is a school in Navrongo which was established in September 1960 by Ghana's first president Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah. It was named President's College. The president indicated his dream that this school will become a great centre of learning in the north and that he will watch its progress with keen interest. Later, it was simply called Navrongo School (NAVASCO). Its mascot is the horn, an important northern Ghanaian symbol of royalty, bravery, and leadership. The school's motto is "LUX BOREALIS" in Latin. It means "The Light of the North". Old students are known as NABIA, a local word meaning Citizen. Facilities NAVASCO is one of few schools in northern Ghana with a wealth of physical infrastructure, a major reason for its ability to educate many people. Kassena-Nankana District
Kassena-Nankana District is a former district that was located in Upper East Region, Ghana. Originally created as an ordinary district assembly in 1988. However on 29 February 2008, it was split off into two new districts: Kassena-Nankana East District (which it was elevated to municipal district assembly status on 28 June 2012; capital: Navrongo) and Kassena-Nankana West District (capital: Paga). Haruna Iddrisu
Haruna Iddrisu (born 8 September 1970) is a Ghanaian lawyer and politician who is a member of the Seventh Parliament of the Fourth Republic of Ghana representing Tamale South. He served as the Minority Leader for NDC in Ghana's Parliament from January 2017 and was succeeded by Ato Forson. Upper East Region
The Upper East Region is located in north Ghana and is the third smallest of the 16 administrative regions in Ghana. Amin Alhassan is a Ghanaian academic, journalist and public servant. He is the incumbent and seventeenth Director General of the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation. Samuel Marful-Sau
Samuel Kofi Marful-Sau (3 February 1957 – 10 August 2021) was a Ghanaian judge. He was an active justice of the Supreme Court of Ghana. Marful-Sau was born in Assin Adubiase in the Central Region. After qualifying as a Barrister-at-law in 1984 he worked at the office of the Provisional National Defence Council and entered private legal practice prior to being called to the High Court bench in June 2002. Henry Ford Kofi Kamel (21 December 1961 – 25 December 2012) was a Ghanaian banker and politician. He was the Member of Parliament for the Buem constituency from January 2005 and also the Volta Region Minister from March 2012 until his death on 25 December 2012.
