Naujan Lake
Naujan Lake is a freshwater lake in the Philippines located in the northeastern corner of the province of Oriental Mindoro on Mindoro Island. The lake is the List of lakes in the Philippines, fifth largest in the country and the main geographical feature of the Naujan Lake National Park. The entire area is a Ramsar Wetland Site since 1999. Geography The lake is bounded by the towns of Naujan, Oriental Mindoro, Naujan to the north and northeast, Victoria, Oriental Mindoro, Victoria to the west, Socorro, Oriental Mindoro, Socorro to the south and southeast, and Pola, Oriental Mindoro, Pola to the east. The lake is also bounded by the Naujan Mountains to the north and east of the lake. Mount Naujan, elevation and one of the inactive volcanoes of the country, is situated northeast of the geographic center of the lake. Oriental Mindoro
Oriental Mindoro ( tl, Silangang Mindoro), officially the Province of Oriental Mindoro, is a province in the Philippines located on the island of Mindoro under Mimaropa region in Luzon, about southwest of Manila. The origin of most of the lakes in the Philippines is closely related to volcanic and tectonic activity. A number of smaller lakes occupy the craters of extinct volcanoes. Some lake basins are developed by subsidence due to tectonic or volcanic activity. There are many field methods available for conducting avian ecological research. They can be divided into three types: counts, nest monitoring, and capturing and marking. Basic counts Basic bird counts are a good way to estimate population size, detect changes in population size or species diversity, and determine the cause of the changes if environmental or habitat data is collected as well. Basic bird counts can be completed fairly easily and inexpensively, and they provide general information about the status of a bird population. Birds can be directly counted on breeding colonies, and at roosts, flocks, or Leks. Large diurnal migrants, like many raptors, can be counted as they pass through migration bottlenecks. A water bird, alternatively waterbird or aquatic bird, is a bird that lives on or around water. Ramon del Fierro Magsaysay Sr. (August 31, 1907 – March 17, 1957) was a Filipino statesman who served as the seventh president of the Philippines, from December 30, 1953, until his death in an aircraft disaster on March 17, 1957. An automobile mechanic by profession, Magsaysay was appointed military governor of Zambales after his outstanding service as a guerrilla leader during the Pacific War.
