Naughty, Naughty! (1918 Film)
''Naughty, Naughty!'' is a 1918 American silent comedy film starring Enid Bennett and written by C. Gardner Sullivan. The film's protagonist is Roberta Miller, an innocent girl who leaves her rural hometown for the big city. She returns after four months, but her sophistication draws suspicion in her hometown. Plot As described in a film magazine, Roberta Miller (Bennett) returns to Lilyville, Kansas, after spending one season in New York City and finds things dull. Her many trunks, bulldog, and much finery cause the gossips' tongues to wag and she finally brings down the wrath of the church-going populous when she presents a "Symphony of Spring" at a bazaar in the town hall that consists of a nature dance with music and little clothing. The town is divided on the question of dancing thereafter and she proceeds to convert the "antis" by luring an innocent young woman to a nearby town's dance hall, intending to leave her there while informing the church people. Marjorie Bennett
Marjorie Bennett (15 January 1896 – 14 June 1982) was an Australian actress who worked mainly in the United Kingdom and the United States. She began her acting career during the silent film era. Career Bennett was born in York in Western Australia. Her sisters Enid (1893–1969) and Catherine (1901–1978) were also Hollywood film actresses. Bennett began acting in films in 1917 and later made the transition to talking pictures with bit roles in ''Monsieur Verdoux'' (1947), ''Abbott and Costello Meet the Killer, Boris Karloff'' (1949), and ''Washington Story'' (1952). Andrew Arbuckle (September 5, 1887 – September 21, 1938) was an American theatre, stage and film actor. He was the brother of Macklyn Arbuckle and cousin of Roscoe Arbuckle, Roscoe "Fatty" Arbuckle. Early life Arbuckle was born in Galveston, Texas, to a family of Scottish Americans, Scottish descent. His brother Macklyn was 20 years old at the time of Andrew's birth. Career Arbuckle first made his film debut in ''Little Mary Sunshine'' (1916), playing Bob's father. In 1935, he made his last appearance in film ''The Dark Angel (1935 film), The Dark Angel'' in an uncredited role as Mr. Gallop. He appeared in a total 44 films, uncredited in ten of them. Gloria Hope (born Olive Frances, November 9, 1901 – October 29, 1976) was an American silent film actress. Life and career She was born as Olive Frances in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, in 1901. Following her education at a Newark, New Jersey, school, she entered upon her career as a screen player and played successively with Ince, Triangle, Artcraft, Ince Paramount, Paralta, Universal and Goldwyn.
