Sheila Natusch
Sheila Ellen Natusch (née Traill, 14 February 1926 – 10 August 2017) was a New Zealand writer and freelance illustrator. Many of her books cover natural history and the history of southern New Zealand, particularly Stewart Island. Early life and family Born Sheila Ellen Traill in Invercargill on 14 February 1926, Natusch was the daughter of Robert Henry "Roy" Traill, whose father had emigrated to New Zealand from Orkney, and Michigan-born Dorothea Ellen Traill (née Moseley). Through her father, Natusch was the great-granddaughter of Eliza Wohlers and her husband, German missionary Johan Wohlers. She grew up on Stewart Island, where her father was the wildlife ranger for 33 years, and received her secondary education at Southland Girls' High School. She then studied at Dunedin Teachers' Training College where she met and befriended Janet Frame. Alberto Natusch Busch (May 23, 1933 in Beni, Bolivia – November 23, 1994 in Santa Cruz, Bolivia) was a Bolivian general who served briefly as the ''de facto'' 55th president of Bolivia in 1979. Charles Natusch
Lewis Tilleard Natusch, but always known as Charles Natusch, (4 October 1859 – 16 July 1951) was a noted New Zealand architect and quantity surveyor, known particularly as a builder of fine houses for wealthy clients. Early life Born and raised in London, England, he trained there as an architect, travelled to the United States and Canada in 1882–83, and returned to England. On 14 March 1883, he married Ada Spencer at Kelvedon, Essex. He shared the liberal political views of Angela Burdett-Coutts, 1st Baroness Burdett-Coutts, and she was influential in him getting a town planning commission in Westcliff, Southend-on-Sea. The Westward Ho Hotel design came out of this commission, and it was his last major work in England. In 1886, he departed with his wife and their first two sons for New Zealand. Guy Natusch
Guy Kingdon Natusch (7 February 1921 – 30 September 2020) was a New Zealand architect. He grew up in Hawke's Bay, where he practised until his retirement in 1997. Biography Natusch was born in Hastings in 1921, the son of architect Rene Natusch. During World War II, he served in the Royal New Zealand Navy from 1942 to 1945 on destroyers and motor torpedo boats, serving in the North Sea and English Channel for D-Day operations. He was awarded the Distinguished Service Cross in May 1944, for good service against enemy light forces. Natusch's grandfather, Charles Natusch, had arrived in New Zealand in 1886 and founded the architectural and quantity surveying firm, Natusch & Sons. Guy Natusch was active in the firm from 1946 to 1997, working on both commercial and residential projects. His style of architecture emphasized the building's function over its appearance.
