''Natural Rebel'' is the fifth studio album by English singer and musician, Richard Ashcroft. The album was released on 19 October 2018 through Righteous Phonographic Association and BMG Rights Management. This is the first Ashcroft album not produced by longtime producer Chris Potter, instead by Jon Kelly Jon Kelly is a British audio engineer and record producer, who began his career as an engineer at Air London Studios. Richard Ashcroft
Richard Paul Ashcroft (born 11 September 1971) is an English singer and songwriter. He was the lead singer and occasional rhythm guitarist of the alternative rock band The Verve from their formation in 1990 until their original split in 1999. Songs he wrote for the band include "Bitter Sweet Symphony", "Lucky Man (The Verve song), Lucky Man", and the UK number one "The Drugs Don't Work". He became a successful solo artist, releasing three UK top three solo albums. The Verve reformed in 2007 but again broke up by summer 2009. Ashcroft then founded a new band, RPA & The United Nations of Sound, and released a new album on 19 July 2010. Ashcroft released his fourth solo album, ''These People'', on 20 May 2016. ''Drowned in Sound'', sometimes abbreviated to ''DiS'', is a UK-based music webzine financed by artist management company Silentway. Founded by editor Sean Adams, the site features reviews, news, interviews, and discussion forums. Chris Potter (record Producer)
Chris Potter is a British record producer and mixer, most known for his work as long-term collaborator and producer of The Verve and Richard Ashcroft. Potter started his career at Maison Rouge Studios in London, where he worked his way up through the ranks to chief engineer. After several successful years there, he left to further his career as a freelance producer and mixer. He has worked with many artists of note including The Rolling Stones and U2 and won a Brit Award for 'Best Producer' in 1998 for his work on The Verve's ''Urban Hymns''. After enjoying worldwide success with his productions and mixes on ''Urban Hymns'', he continued to work with Richard Ashcroft on his solo albums. ''Loud and Quiet'' is a British bi-monthly music magazine that focuses on new music from underground indie, alternative, electronic and hip hop artists.
