The EP received radio attention in New Zealand with the title track "Let It Go" becoming a staple of student and rock radio. Weta (band)
Weta were a four-piece rock band from Wellington, New Zealand. The band was formed in 1995. It supported touring bands including Everclear, Foo Fighters, and Soundgarden - after a Wellington Town Hall show, Soundgarden bassist Ben Shepherd presented Clinton Tokona with his Music Man bass guitar after falling out with it on stage. In 1997 Aaron Tokona temporarily filled in on guitar for Adelaide, Australia band The Superjesus, after guitarist Chris Tennent left the band. When offered the position full-time, Tokona declined in order to concentrate on Weta. Impressed with his abilities as a guitarist, former Superjesus manager Dan Hennessy took a keen interest in the band and when he took over as A&R chief at Warner Bros. Records Australia, Weta were added to their roster and the band moved to Melbourne, Australia in 1999. Tom Larkin (musician)
Tom Larkin (born 18 September 1971) is a founding member of the New Zealand band Shihad, band manager, and music producer. He grew up in Wellington, New Zealand but now lives in Melbourne in Australia. He is often mentioned as one of the greatest hard rock drummers that New Zealand has ever produced. Early life and family Larkin was born in Wellington, New Zealand to parents Thomas Cedric Larkin and Sarah Marianne Williams. As a kid, he often played the drums so loud in his parents big Kelburn house in Wellington, that the neighbours sometimes complained. While at school at Wellington High in the late 1980s he met Jon Toogood and together they former Shihad back in 1988. ''Geographica'' is the sole full-length album by New Zealand rock band Weta, released in 2000. Rumoured to cost up to $400,000 Weta's management planned to use the album to launch the band in Australia but the band broke up before its release in that country. With no band to support the album on tour, Warner Music decided only to release the album in NZ, where it reached 8 on the charts and went platinum. "Calling On" served as lead single, with "Snapshot" and "If I Will I Can" released as radio-only singles after the album's release. Let It Go (Weta Song)
"Let It Go" is a song from Disney's 2013 computer-animated feature film '' Frozen'', whose music and lyrics were composed by husband-and-wife songwriting team Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez. The song was performed in its original show-tune version in the film by American actress and singer Idina Menzel in her vocal role as Queen Elsa. It was later released as a single, being promoted to adult contemporary radio by Walt Disney Records in January 2014. Anderson-Lopez and Lopez also composed a simplified pop version (with shorter lyrics and background chorus) which was performed by actress and singer Demi Lovato over the start of the film's closing credits.
