NatSKA (The National Schools and Youth Group Karting Association) was formed over forty years ago in the north east, by a group of like minded people intent on making motorsport accessible to schoolchildren. One of their primary objectives was to make kart racing as affordable to as many people as possible whilst maintaining a high level of competition. Kart racing in schools has existed since the late sixties. NatSKA is a nationwide association that holds race meetings throughout the country at major racetracks such as Blackbushe, Glan-y-Gors, Kimbolton, Rowrah, Rye House, Buckmore park and Whilton Mill. The association has 27 teams as far apart as Tyne and Wear through to Kent and Devon. Motorsport, motorsports or motor sport is a global term used to encompass the group of competitive sporting events which primarily involve the use of motorized vehicles. Tyne and Wear () is a metropolitan county in North East England, situated around the mouths of the rivers Tyne and Wear. St Michael's is a Church of England secondary school located in the town of Chorley, Lancashire, England. The school is home to 1,200 pupils, and is a performing Arts College. Since September 2016, the headteacher has been Jayne Jenks, who took over from Julie Heaton, who had occupied the post since January 2012. She started as a teacher of physical education in 1982. The school was established in 1964, as a ''Secondary Modern School''. The first headteacher was Roy Moore. Motorsport UK, formerly known as the Motor Sports Association (MSA), is a national membership organisation and governing body for four-wheel motorsport in the United Kingdom. Rotax Max
The Rotax Max 125 Engine is a two-stroke engine designed by Rotax, part of Bombardier Recreational Products (BRP), to provide cost-effective but high speed kart racing. Built in Austria, the engine is liquid cooled, equipped with a balance shaft, integrated water pump, electric starter and centrifugal clutch. Its combination of onboard electric starter and centrifugal clutch simplifies its operation. This concept is called TaG (Touch-and-go).
