National Road 2 (Poland)
National road 2 ( pl, Droga krajowa nr 2, abbreviated as DK2) is part of the Polish national road network. The highway connects the western and eastern regions of Poland, running from Świecko at the German border to Terespol at the border with Belarus, traversing through the Lubusz, Greater Poland, Łódź Masovian and Lublin voivodeships. National road 2 is part of European highway E30. It is currently undergoing extensive change, with construction of the A2 motorway expanding various parts of the older road to motorway standards and eliminating parts of the previous route. Between Świecko and Warsaw and near Mińsk Mazowiecki, the old route has been superseded by the A2 motorway and S2 express way. The part of the old route that no longer belongs to National road 2 is renumbered to National road 92, and is frequently referred to as the "old 2" ( pl, stara dwójka). Lubusz Voivodeship
Lubusz Voivodeship, or Lubuskie Province ( pl, województwo lubuskie ), is a voivodeship (province) in western Poland. It was created on January 1, 1999, out of the former Gorzów Wielkopolski and Zielona Góra Voivodeships, pursuant to the Polish local government reforms adopted in 1998. The province's name recalls the historic Lubusz Land (''Lebus'' or ''Lubus''), although parts of the voivodeship belong to the historic regions of Silesia, Greater Poland and Lusatia. Until 1945, it mainly formed the Neumark within the Prussian Province of Brandenburg. The functions of regional capital are shared between two cities: Gorzów Wielkopolski and Zielona Góra. Gorzów serves as the seat of the centrally-appointed voivode, or governor, and Zielona Góra is the seat of the elected regional assembly (sejmik) and the executive elected by that assembly, headed by a marshal (''marszałek''). National road 15 (Polish: ''Droga krajowa nr 15'') is a 374 km long G class and GP class national road connecting Trzebnica with Ostróda. It runs through Lower Silesian Voivodeship, Greater Poland Voivodeship, Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship and Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship. Września
Września (german: Wreschen) is a town in west-central Poland with 28,600 inhabitants (1995). It is situated in the Września County, Greater Poland Voivodeship (since 1999), previously in Poznań Voivodeship (1975–1998), on the Wrześnica River. History Września was first mentioned in 1256 in a document issued in Poznań. Early sources speak of Wressna (1317) or Wresna (1364). Września was granted town privileges before 1357. It was a private town, owned by various Polish nobles families, administratively located in the Kalisz Voivodeship of the Greater Poland Province of the Polish Crown. The coat of arms of Września is the Poraj coat of arms of the Poraj family, the first owners of the town. Annual fairs and weekly markets took place in the town. Rzepin
Rzepin (german: Reppen) is a town in western Poland. Situated in the Lubusz Voivodeship (since 1999), in Słubice County it is a seat of the urban-rural Rzepin Gmina. From 1975 until 1998 the town, from an administrative point of view, belonged to the Gorzów Wielkopolski Voivodeship. As of 2019, the town had a population of 6,529 inhabitants. Geography The town is situated in the western part of the Lubusz Lake District and Torzymska Plain (315.43), in the longitudinal postglacial valley, in the historical region of Lubusz/Lebus Land. Hydrology The Ilanka river, which is the right-bank tributary of the Oder river, flows through the town and takes the tributary Rzepin to the south of the town, near Nowy Młyn. A voivodeship is the area administered by a voivode (Governor) in several countries of central and eastern Europe. Voivodeships have existed since medieval times and the area of extent of voivodeship resembles that of a duchy in western medieval states, much as the title of voivode was equivalent to that of a duke.
