National Unity Party (Israel)
The National Unity Party or State Camp ( he, המחנה הממלכתי, HaMaḥane HaMamlakhti) is an Israeli political alliance made up of Benny Gantz’s Blue and White party and Gideon Sa'ar’s New Hope party, as well as former IDF Chief of Staff Gadi Eizenkot. The alliance was created to participate in the 2022 Israeli legislative election. Shirly Pinto ( he, שירלי פינטו; born 15 March 1989) is an Israeli Deaf social-political activist, who served as Member of Knesset for National Unity. Pinto is fluent in Israeli Sign Language as well as Hebrew, and is one of the founders of . Biography Pinto was born to Deaf parents, and raised in the Krayot. Her mother is Deaf and blind, and part of the Nalaga'at theater group. Pinto attended the Carmel Zvulun Regional High School in Kibbutz Yagur, electing to study graphic design and social science. She received a complete matriculation diploma, graduating with honors. Pinto made most of her childhood with her mother's parents, as well as with her signing parents. Yamina or Yemina (; ) is an Israeli political alliance of right-wing parties that originally included the New Right and the Union of Right-Wing Parties (a union of The Jewish Home and Tkuma). The current incarnation of the alliance includes only the New Right, as The Jewish Home left the alliance on 14 July 2020, and the Religious Zionist Party left on 20 January 2021. The list was created ahead of the September 2019 Israeli legislative election, in which Yamina secured seven seats in the Knesset. The alliance was expected to split on 6 October, with the New Right as its own faction, while Tkuma and the Jewish Home will stay together, though the alliance continued to negotiate as a single bloc in the aftermath of the election. 2022 Israeli Legislative Election
Legislative elections were held in Israel on 1 November 2022 to elect the 120 members of the 25th Knesset. The results saw the right-wing national camp of former prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu achieving a parliamentary majority, amid losses for left-wing and Arab parties, as well as far-right gains. After the 2021 Israeli legislative election, the next elections had been scheduled for no later than 11 November 2025 according to the four-year term limit set by Basic Law: The Government. Gadi Eisenkot or Eizenkot ( he, גדי איזנקוט; born 19 May 1960) was the 21st Chief of General Staff of the Israel Defense Forces (16 February 2015 – 15 January 2019). He is the originator of the so-called Dahiya doctrine. Biography Gadi Eisenkot was born in Tiberias, in northern Israel. He is the second of four children born to Meir and Esther Eizenkot, Jewish Moroccan immigrants from the town of Safi. His mother was born in Casablanca, and his father was born in Marrakesh. It is thought that the family name was originally Azenkot and was changed to Eisenkot by a clerk after his father immigrated to Israel.
