National Road Network Of Costa Rica
National Road Network of Costa Rica ( es, Red Vial Nacional), are a series of numbered road routes that are managed through Costa Rica by the Ministry of Public Works and Transport (MOPT) and its subagency the National Road Council (Conavi). According to the Inter-American Development Bank, in 2019 Costa Rica had the worst road network in Latin America, due to being under maintained, and having structural defects and deterioration in around 49% of the National Primary Routes network. Other countries in the area report an average of 20% in the same metric. There are no high speed express routes but there are some two-lane trunk roads. Potholes are common in primary road routes. Many of the secondary or tertiary road routes are made of gravel or dirt. San José is the first canton in the province of San José in Costa Rica. It includes the national capital city of San José. The canton lies on a fertile plain at the eastern end of the Central Valley (Valle Central). The Virilla River and Torres River form the border on the north, while the Tiribí River marks the southern boundary. The canton encompasses San José city, composed by all of its districts, albeit partially Uruca, although the Greater Metropolitan Area reaches far beyond in all directions. Hospital District
Hospital is a district of the San José canton, in the San José province of Costa Rica. It is one of the four administrative units that form San José downtown properly. The district houses, along with Merced district, the main commercial activity of the city, and is the most populous of the four central districts. Geography Hospital has an area of 3.3 km² and an elevation of 1160 metres. It lies in the center of the canton, the only one which limits with districts of San José and not with other cantons. Toponymy The district receives its name because of the Cathedral and the catholic Archdiocese of San José, the only archdiocese in the country which lies between its boundaries, along with several other government buildings. Curridabat (canton)
Curridabat is the eighteenth canton in the San José province of Costa Rica. The head city the homonymous Curridabat. The canton forms a suburb of the national capital of San José, lying on the southeast edge of the city. History Curridabat was created on 21 August 1929 by decree 209. In 1930 the canton had a municipality with three ''regidores'', a Major (AKA ''Ejecutivo Municipal'') and ''Jefe político'' (both charges were in the same person). At this time the canton's population were 5,000 people, but with the time and the population grew and the municipality had to create a sanitation department to collect garbage, road, sidewalk maintenance and built some infrastructure.
