National Reserve Korps Fanfare
The National Reserve Korps Fanfare (Dutch: ''"Fanfare Korps Nationale Reserve"'') is a Dutch military unit in the Royal Netherlands Army that serves as the unit band of the National Reserve Corps. The band's home base is at Bernhard Barracks in Amersfoort. It is one of four military bands in the Netherlands Armed Forces. The conductor of the FKNR is Captain Alfred Willering while the commander is Major Theo van Deelen. The band was founded in 1986, initially as a drum corps. It was later expanded to become a drum band, after which it eventually became a brass band. A copper ensemble and a combo are also active within the band. On 15 July 1996, a Belgian Air Force C-130H ''CH-06'' crashed at Eindhoven Airport in the Dutch city of Eindhoven after departing from Villafranca in Italy. The aircraft carryed 37 members of the FKNR along with two pilots, one engineer and one loadmaster. 32 band members died in the crash. Prinsjesdag ( en, Little Prince's Day) is the day on which the reigning monarch of the Netherlands addresses a joint session of the States-General of the Netherlands (consisting of the Senate and the House of Representatives) to give the speech from the throne ( nl, Troonrede, similar to the annual US State of the Union). This speech sets out the main features of government policy for the coming parliamentary session. The occasion is prescribed by the constitution, article 65 of which states: "A statement of the policy to be pursued by the Government shall be given by or on behalf of the King or the Queen before a joint session of the two Houses of the States-General that shall be held every year on the third Tuesday in September or on such earlier date as may be prescribed by Act of Parliament." Eindhoven Airport is an airport located west of Eindhoven, Netherlands. The Army Band Hannover (german: Heeresmusikkorps Hannover) is a musical band unit of the German Army based in Hannover, Lower Saxony. Description It was established as Musikkorps II A on July 1, 1956. Its founding came at a time when military bands of East Germany and West Germany were being founded, with then-Chancellor Konrad Adenauer of West Germany placing significant importance to the founding of similar army bands during the development period of the German Heer. It later on was given the name "Army Band 1" in 1959, following its joining with the 1st Panzer Division that year. The Grenadiers and Rifles Guards Regiment ( nl, Garderegiment Grenadiers en Jagers) is a regiment of the Royal Netherlands Army; along with the Garderegiment Fuseliers Prinses Irene it is one of the two Dutch Guard regiments.
