Jensen, Utah
Jensen is a census-designated place in eastern Uintah County, Utah, United States. The population was 412 at the 2010 census. It lies along the Green River and U.S. Route 40, southeast of the city of Vernal, the county seat of Uintah County, and about 17 miles west of the Colorado border. Although Jensen is unincorporated, it has a post office, with the ZIP code of 84035. Jensen was first settled in 1877 and named for Lars Jensen, an early prospector and ferryman. Today its main importance is as the Utah entrance to Dinosaur National Monument. Demographics As of the census of 2010, there were 412 people living in the CDP. There were 156 housing units. The racial makeup of the town was 91.3% White, 0.2% Black or African American, 5.3% from some other race, and 3.2% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 6.3% of the population. Whiterocks is a census-designated place (CDP) in Uintah County, Utah, United States. The population was 341 at the 2000 census, a slight increase over the 1990 population of 312. Geography Whiterocks is located at (40.467560, -109.929607). According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of , all land. Demographics As of the census of 2000, there were 341 people, 92 households, and 78 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 145.1 people per square mile (56.0/km2). Maeser ( ) is a census-designated place (CDP) in Uintah County, Utah, United States. The population was 2,855 at the 2000 census, a small increase over the 1990 figure of 2,598. Dinosaur National Monument
Dinosaur National Monument is an American national monument located on the southeast flank of the Uinta Mountains on the border between Colorado and Utah at the confluence of the Green and Yampa rivers. Although most of the monument area is in Moffat County, Colorado, the Dinosaur Quarry is located in Utah, north of the town of Jensen, Utah. The nearest Colorado town is Dinosaur while the nearest city is Vernal, Utah. Originally preserved in 1915 to protect its famous Dinosaur Quarry, the monument was greatly expanded in 1938 to include its wealth of natural history. Ouray is an unincorporated village of the Uintah and Ouray Indian Reservation, located in west‑central Uintah County, Utah, United States. Description The community is located primarily on the north bank of the confluence of the Duchesne and Green rivers at an elevation of . Ouray is situated within the Uintah and Ouray Indian Reservation at the southern terminus of State Route 88, about south-southwest of Vernal.
