Napton, originally known as Jonesboro, is an unincorporated community in southeastern Saline County, Missouri, United States. Napton is located on Missouri Supplemental Route E, southeast of Marshall. Napton was originally named Jonesboro, and under the latter name was laid out in 1887, and named after the local Jones family. Grand Pass, Missouri
Grand Pass is a village in Saline County, Missouri, United States. The population was 66 at the 2010 census. History Grand Pass was named from the Great Osage Trail that passed through the town. In 1943, German and Italian prisoners of World War II were brought to Missouri and other Midwest states as a means of solving the labor shortage caused by American men serving in the war effort. Sweet Springs, Missouri
Sweet Springs is a city in Saline County, Missouri, United States, along the Blackwater River. The population was 1,484 at the 2010 census. History Sweet Springs was originally named "Brownsville", and under the latter name was platted in 1838. A post office called Sweet Springs has been in operation since 1849. The present name is after a mineral spring near the original town site. On April 19, 1882, a tornado destroyed much of Sweet Springs, killing 11 people and injuring 100.
