Deseret () is a census-designated place in Millard County, Utah, United States. The population was 353 at the 2010 census. Deseret is located approximately southwest of Delta, and about southwest of Salt Lake City. The name ''Deseret'' comes from the ''Book of Mormon''. Climate Deseret has a cold semi-arid climate (Köppen ''BSk'') with hot summers and cold winters. Demographics As of the census of 2010, there were 353 people living in the CDP. There were 124 housing units. The racial makeup of the town was 97.7% White, 1.4% American Indian and Alaska Native, 0.3% Native Hawaiian and Other Pacific Islander, and 0.6% from two or more races. Scipio is a town on the eastern edge of Millard County, Utah, United States. The population was 290 at the 2000 census. Geography According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of , all land. Meadow is a town in Millard County, Utah, United States. The population was 254 at the 2000 census. Originally called Meadow Creek, the town is located about eight miles south of Fillmore. History From 1847, Meadow Creek was considered a good camp site on the Mormon Road to Southern California. Meadow Creek was the site where Walkara died in 1855. The town of Meadow Creek was settled in 1857 by ten Latter-day Saint families from Fillmore, Utah. The name of the town was changed to Meadow when it acquired its post office in 1864. Hinckley, Utah
Hinckley is a town in Millard County, Utah, United States, in the middle of the Sevier Desert. Irrigation water from the Sevier River, passing nearby, has been used to turn Hinckley into a farming oasis. The mountains that are common in Utah are seen only in the distance, and beyond the reach of the river, a severe desert prevails. The population was 696 at the 2010 census. History Hinckley was first settled by Erastus F. Pack, a son of John Pack. The area was part of the Latter Day Saints Deseret Ward until 1891 when that ward was split, and the area now known as Hinckley was made the Hinckley Ward, named after Ira N. Hinckley.
