Main Line (Pennsylvania Railroad)
The Main Line of the Pennsylvania Railroad was a rail line in Pennsylvania connecting Philadelphia with Pittsburgh via Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, Harrisburg. The rail line was split into two rail lines, and now all of its right-of-way is a cross-state Keystone Corridor, corridor, composed of Amtrak's Philadelphia to Harrisburg Main Line (including SEPTA's Paoli/Thorndale Line service) and the Norfolk Southern Railway's Pittsburgh Line. Granville Township is a township in Mifflin County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 4,638 at the 2020 census. History The Pennsylvania Main Line Canal, Juniata Division, Canal Section was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2002. Geography According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of , of which is land and (1.81%) is water. Demographics As of the census of 2000, there were 4,895 people, 1,971 households, and 1,452 families residing in the township. The population density was 121.9 people per square mile (47.1/km2). There were 2,110 housing units at an average density of 52.5/sq mi (20.3/km2). One-room schools, or schoolhouses, were commonplace throughout rural portions of various countries, including Prussia, Norway, Sweden, the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, Ireland, and Spain. Frank Ross McCoy
Frank Ross McCoy (October 29, 1874 – June 4, 1954) was a United States Army officer. He served in the Philippines, during World War I, and led an American relief mission to Tokyo after the 1923 earthquake. He retired from military service in 1938. In his civilian career, he was president of the Foreign Policy Association and chairman of the Far Eastern Commission. Early life McCoy was born in Lewistown, Pennsylvania on October 29, 1874, the son of Margaret Eleanor (Ross) McCoy and Thomas Franklin McCoy. a veteran of the Mexican–American War and American Civil War who attained the rank of brigadier general by brevet. He graduated from Lewistown High School in 1891, then attended the United States Military Academy. He graduated in 1897, received his commission as a second lieutenant and was assigned to the 8th Cavalry.
