Fountain Lake, Arkansas
Fountain Lake is a city in Garland County, Arkansas, United States. It is part of the Hot Springs Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 503 at the 2010 census. Geography Fountain Lake is located in eastern Garland County at . According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of , all land. The town is northeast of downtown Hot Springs and is bordered to the north by unincorporated Hot Springs Village. The community is named for a former estate on the southern edge of the area. The location is directly off Highway 7, across from Fountain Lake Center (a strip mall), and can be identified by a large stucco entrance gate and a long tree-lined drive. Highway 128 (AR 128, Ark. 128, and Hwy. 128) is a designation for four east–west state highways in Southwest Arkansas. One route of begins at Highway 7 in Sparkman and runs east to Highway 9 at Holly Springs. A second route of begins at Highway 51 at Joan and runs east to Highway 7/ Highway 8 at Gravel Junction. Arkansas Highway 7
Highway 7 (AR 7, Ark. 7, Hwy. 7, and partially Scenic 7 Byway) is a north–south state highway that runs across the state of Arkansas. As Arkansas's longest state highway, the route runs from Louisiana Highway 558 at the Louisiana state line north to Bull Shoals Lake at Diamond City near the Missouri state line. With the exception of the segment north of Harrison, Highway 7 has been designated as an Arkansas Scenic Byway and a National Forest Scenic Byway. Bear, Arkansas
Bear, formerly also called Bear City, is an unincorporated community in Garland County, Arkansas, United States. It is close to the shore of Lake Ouachita, which was formed by the construction of the Blakely Mountain Dam across the Ouachita River. Today, Bear has very few inhabitants and is surrounded by the Ouachita National Forest. History Up until some point in the early 20th century after 1910 Bear was in Montgomery County. However, it was decided to make the boundary more regular so Bear as well as Buckville and Cedar Glades were transferred to Garland County. Bear City began with the founding of a post office in 1882. The area only had a few homesteaders and was named for nearby Bear Mountain. In 1884, rumors of gold in the area began to circulate. The first plat for the city was also filed that year. Hot Spring County is located in the U.S. state of Arkansas. As of the 2010 census, the population was 32,923. The county seat is Malvern. Hot Spring County was formed on November 2, 1829, from a portion of Clark County. Dionicio Rodriguez (1891–1955) was a Mexican-born artist and architect whose work can be seen in Alabama, Arkansas, Illinois, Maryland, Michigan, New Mexico, Tennessee, and Texas, as well as Washington, D.C. and Mexico City. Dionicio Rodríguez died in San Antonio on December 16, 1955, and was buried in San Fernando Archdiocesan Cemetery; he had no immediate survivors. His work is noted for its unique style of concrete construction that imitates wood, known as ''Faux Bois'' (French for ''false wood''). Gates, benches and artificial rock formations were created by the artist to invite visitors to rest or explore the landscape.
