The National Labour Front ( es, link=no, Frente Nacional del Trabajo, FNT) was a rightist political party of Chile existent from 1985 to 1987, and led by Sergio Onofre Jarpa. History The political movement was publicly presented by the former Interior Minister Sergio Onofre Jarpa on December 13, 1985 at the Feria de Peñuelas (Coquimbo), at which he announced the creation of a "National Workers Front" (''Frente Nacional de Trabajadores''). Jarpa was a former member of the National Action party and later founder of the National Party, the former Christian Democrats Juan De Dios Carmona and William Thayer Arteaga and the former members of Radical Democracy party, Ángel Faivovich, Germán Picó Cañas and Aquiles Cornejo. Jaime Guzmán
Jaime Jorge Guzmán Errázuriz (June 28, 1946 – April 1, 1991) was a Chilean constitutional law professor, speechwriter and member and doctrinal founder of the conservative Independent Democrat Union party. In the 1960s he opposed the University Reform and became an avid organizer of the Gremialist movement. He opposed President Salvador Allende and later became a close advisor of Pinochet and his dictatorship. A professor of Constitutional Law, he played an important part in the drafting of the 1980 Chilean Constitution. He served briefly as senator during the transition to democracy before being assassinated in 1991 by members of the communist urban guerrilla Manuel Rodríguez Patriotic Front. The Independent Democratic Union (''Unión Demócrata Independiente'', UDI) is a conservative and right-wing political party in Chile, founded in 1983. Its founder was the lawyer, politician and law professor Jaime Guzmán, a civilian allied with Augusto Pinochet. Guzmán was a senator from 1990 until his murder by communist guerrillas on April 1, 1991. Its ideological origins date back to Guzmán's Guildist Movement, born out of the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile in 1966, espousing the independence and depoliticization of intermediate bodies of civil society. The National Union Movement ( es, link=no, Movimiento de Unión Nacional, MUN) was a Chilean political party that supported the military dictatorship of General Augusto Pinochet, founded on 27 November 1983 by Andrés Allamand, Francisco Bulnes Sanfuentes, Pedro Ibáñez Ojeda and other former members and supporters of the National Party, the Radical Democracy and Christian Democrats expelled from the party. Many members of the National Union Movement occupied public offices and important positions during that regime. The referent defined itself as independent, conservative and liberal.
