National Highway 354B (India)
National Highway 354B, commonly referred to as NH 354B, is a national highway in India. It is a spur road of National Highway 54 in the state of Punjab in India. This highway was removed from the list of national highways on 27 February 2018 and got absorbed in Punjab State Highway 20. Subsequently, on 21 January 2019, another highway was designated as 354B. This starts from its junction with NH-354 near Dera Baba Nanak and terminates at Indo-Pak border in the State of Punjab. The National highways in India are a network of trunk roads owned by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways. National highways have flyover access or some controlled-access, where entrance and exit is through the side of the flyover, at each intersection of highways flyovers are provided to bypass the city/town/village traffic and these highways are designed for speed of 100 km/hr. Some national highways have interchanges in between but they don't have total controlled-access throughout the highways. A spur route is a short road forming a branch from a longer, more important road such as a freeway, Interstate Highway, or motorway. A bypass or beltway should not be considered a true spur route as it typically reconnects with another or the same major road. The Kartarpur Corridor ( pa, ਕਰਤਾਰਪੁਰ ਲਾਂਘਾ , , translit=kartārpur lāṅghā; ur, , translit=kartárpúr ráhdári) is a visa (travel), visa-free border crossing and religious corridor, connecting the Gurdwara Darbar Sahib Kartarpur, Gurdwara Darbar Sahib, near Lahore in Pakistan to Dera Baba Nanak, Gurudwara Dera Baba Nanak, Gurdaspur district, Punjab, India. On 28 April 2010, the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways officially published a new numbering system for the National Highway network in the Gazette of the Government of India. It is a systematic numbering scheme based on the orientation and the geographic location of the highway. This was adopted to ensure more flexibility and consistency in the numbering of existing and new national highways.
