National High School, Basavanagudi
National High School (or NHS) is a government-aided high school in the Basavanagudi section of Bangalore, India. With grades/classes for 8th, 9th and 10th, NHS caters to academically eligible students regardless of religion or caste. NHS is run by the National Education Society (NES). History In 1917 Dr. Annie Besant and several others founded NHS in Bangalore. During its early years, NHS hosting several activists for Indian independence movement, Indian independence from Great Britain. Mahatma Gandhi visited NHS on several occasions. It is said that on one of Gandhiji's visits, he had said "If on a map of India the places I love are marked red, the place on which the National High School stands will be marked very very red". Raghunath Nambiar
Air Marshal Raghunath Nambiar, PVSM, AVSM, VM & Bar is a retired officer of the Indian Air Force. He served as Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief (AOC-in-C), Western Air Command from 1 March 2019 to 31 October 2019. Manharlal Pranlal Thakkar or M. P. Thakkar (born 4 November 1923, date of death unknown) was an Indian judge who was a Justice of the Supreme Court of India, and Chairman of Twelfth Law Commission of India. Early life Thakkar was born in Burma, British India in 1923. He studied in National High School, Basavanagudi and B.E.T. High School at Rangoon. He passed LL.B from Sir L.A. Shah Law College of Ahmedabad. After the enrollment he started practice in the Indian High Courts in 1948. Career Thakkar practised on Civil, Criminal, Income-Tax, Industrial Disputes and Company matters before the then Saurashtra High Court at Rajkot and Bombay High Court. He worked in the Gujarat High Court since 1960 to 1963. He was appointed the Judge in City Civil and Sessions Court on 23 January 1963. Prakash Padukone (born 10 June 1955) is a former Indian badminton player. He was ranked World No. 1 in 1980; the same year he became the first Indian to win the All England Open Badminton Championships.
