National Film Award For Best Choreography
The National Film Award for Best Choreography is one of the National Film Awards presented annually by the Directorate of Film Festivals, the organization set up by Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, India. It is one of several awards presented for feature films and awarded with Rajat Kamal (Silver Lotus). The award was instituted in 1991 at 39th National Film Awards but awarded first time at 40th National Film Awards and then awarded annually for films produced in the year across the country, in all Indian languages. Hindi (19 awards), Tamil (5 awards), Malayalam (4 awards), Telugu (3 awards), Bengali and Marathi (1 each). Cinema Of India
The Cinema of India consists of motion pictures produced in India, which had a large effect on world cinema since the late 20th century. Mugur Sundar
Mugur Sundar is a dance choreographer in South Indian cinema. Early life Sundar was born in Mugur, a village located in Mysore district, Karnataka. He has three sons, Prabhu Deva, Raju Sundaram and Nagendra Prasad, who are established dance masters and have also worked in Kollywood films. All the three are distinct actors also and Prabhudeva is currently a successful Director as well. Career He worked in Chandamama Press in Chennai for a salary of Rs.40 per month. He learnt dancing by paying Rs.10. In 1962 he got a chance to be a group dancer in the movie ''Konjum Salangai''. He worked as assistant to Thangappan master for four years. ''Minsara Kanavu'' () is a 1997 Indian Tamil-language musical romantic drama film that was co-written and directed by Rajiv Menon. ''Yugant'' ( en, What the Sea Said) is a 1995 Bengali drama movie directed by Aparna Sen. The movie featured Anjan Dutt and Roopa Ganguly. Plot Deepak and Anasuya are an estranged couple, now leading separate lives in Cuttack and Bombay. They meet again after 18 months of separation, at a small fishing village where they had once honeymooned. Though driven apart by their careers, Deepak and Anasuya realize that their feelings for each other have not changed, and slowly they struggle for reconciliation. Ileana Citaristi
Ileana Citaristi is an Italian-born Indian Odissi and Chhau dancer, and dance instructor based in Bhubaneswar, India. She was awarded the 43rd National Film Awards for Best Choreography for ''Yugant'' in 1995 and became, in 2006, the first dancer of foreign origin to be conferred the Padma Shri for her contributions to Odissi.
