National Cricket Performance Centre
The National Cricket Performance Centre first came into existence in the winter of 2001–2002 and has been based at Loughborough University since 2003. In 2007 following the "Schofield Report" the National Academy was renamed the National Cricket Performance Centre. It consists of a state of the art £4.5 million indoor training complex. Facilities include lanes enabling full runups for fast bowlers and wicket-keepers stood back, Hawk-Eye cameras and advanced biomechanics analysis equipment. In addition to the indoor complex the academy also provides top class outdoor training facilities. The National Academy is integrated with the England Lions cricket team, with touring parties being taken from the Academy squad. Peter Such
Peter Mark Such (born 12 June 1964) is an English cricketer, cricket coach, and match referee. An off-spinner, Such was brought into the Test arena in 1993 as a replacement for John Emburey but, despite taking 6 for 67 on debut and being the highest wicket taker for England in the series only played an initial eight Tests before having to wait five years before his next appearance. Career Such enjoyed a 19-year first-class career including stints at Nottinghamshire and Leicestershire before joining Essex in 1990. It was at Essex where he gained most success although he is perhaps best remembered for hitting the winning boundary in the second day of a Natwest Trophy semi final against Glamorgan in 1997 when play had been suspended the day before due to bad light with Mark Ilott and Robert Croft having an on field confrontation seen on BBC television. Cricket At Loughborough University
Cricket is a bat-and-ball game played between two teams of eleven players on a field at the centre of which is a pitch with a wicket at each end, each comprising two bails balanced on three stumps. The batting side scores runs by striking the ball bowled at one of the wickets with the bat and then running between the wickets, while the bowling and fielding side tries to prevent this (by preventing the ball from leaving the field, and getting the ball to either wicket) and dismiss each batter (so they are "out"). The England cricket team represents England and Wales in international cricket. Rod Marsh
Rodney William Marsh (4 November 1947 – 4 March 2022) was an Australian professional cricketer who played as a wicketkeeper for the Australian national team. Marsh had a Test career spanning from the 1970–71 to the 1983–84 Australian seasons. In 96 Tests, he set a world record of 355 wicketkeeping dismissals, the same number his pace bowling Western Australian teammate Dennis Lillee achieved with the ball. The pair were known for their bowler–wicketkeeper partnership, which yielded 95 Test wickets, a record for any such combination. They made their Test debuts in the same series and retired from Test cricket in the same match. Bruce French (cricketer)
Bruce Nicholas French (born 13 August 1959) is a former English cricketer, who played in sixteen Test matches and 13 One Day Internationals for the England cricket team from 1985 to 1988. A wicket-keeper/batsman, French played his first Test against India at Headingley, Leeds in 1986, and his last Test against New Zealand in Wellington in March 1988. French played his county cricket exclusively for Nottinghamshire. Cricket writer, Colin Bateman, described French as "a wicketkeeper of the highest calibre". Richard Halsall
Richard Grant Halsall (born 1 October 1968) is a former Zimbabwean cricketer. Halsall was a right-handed batsman who bowled right-arm fast-medium. He was born at Salisbury, Rhodesia (today Harare, Zimbabwe). Halsall made his debut in first-class cricket for Mashonaland Country Districts against Mashonaland Under-24s in the 1993/94 Logan Cup. This was the only first-class match he played in Zimbabwe. His next appearance in first-class cricket came for Cambridge University in English county cricket. His first-class debut for the university came against Lancashire in 1999. Kevin Shine
Kevin James Shine (born 22 February 1969) is a former first-class cricketer and former coach of Somerset County Cricket Club, and was the fast-bowling coach for the England cricket team from 2006 until 2019. In November 2019 he joined Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club as an Assistant Coach. His first-class career ran from 1989 to 1998, during which he played for Hampshire, Middlesex and Somerset. He took 249 first-class wickets at an average of 36.09, including 55 in the 1997 season. His best innings figures were 8 for 47 for Hampshire against Lancashire in 1992.
