National Communities Resource Centre
The National Communities Resource Centre (NCRC) is a British charity which was set up in 1991 to offer support and training to residents in low-income areas. It runs courses for tenants and community groups from its premises near Chester. Since 2020 it has been part of Regenda Group, a company which provides and operates affordable housing. History The organisation was founded in 1991 by Professor Brian Able-Smith, Professor Anne Power and Lord Richard Rogers as a registered charity and a company limited by guarantee (named National Tenants Resource Centre Ltd until 2006). In 1995 the charity acquired, with the help of Grand Metropolitan Estates, the 18th-century country house known as Trafford Hall, in extensive grounds some northeast of Chester. Trafford Hall
Trafford Hall is an 18th-century country house standing to the east of the village of Wimbolds Trafford in Cheshire, England, about northeast of the city of Chester. It is owned by The Regenda Group and operated as a youth hostel and training centre by the Youth Hostels Association. The house and grounds Trafford Hall was built in 1756 for George Edward Gerrard. The house is constructed in brick with stone dressings and slate roofs. Its architectural style is Georgian. It has 2½ storeys and five bays on the entrance front. To the left of the main block is a single-storey pavilion joined to the house by a service wing. To the right, and set back, is the ballroom, added in the 19th century. The central bay of the main block projects slightly forward, and has rusticated quoins at the corners. There are similar quoins at the corner of the house. 2011 England Riots
The 2011 England riots, more widely known as the London riots, were a series of riots between 6 and 11 August 2011. Thousands of people rioted in cities and towns across England, which saw looting, arson, as well as mass deployment of police and the deaths of five people. The protests started in Tottenham Hale, London, following the death of Mark Duggan, a local man who was shot dead by police on 4 August. Several violent clashes with police followed Duggan's death, along with the destruction of police vehicles, a double-decker bus and many homes and businesses, which rapidly gained the attention of the media. Overnight, looting took place in Tottenham Hale retail park and in nearby Wood Green. The following days saw similar scenes in other parts of London, with the worst rioting taking place in Hackney, Brixton, Walthamstow, Wandsworth, Peckham, Enfield, Battersea, Croydon, Ealing, Barking, Woolwich, Lewisham and East Ham. The Youth Hostels Association (England & Wales) is a charitable organisation, registered with the Charity Commission, providing youth hostel accommodation in England and Wales. It is a member of the Hostelling International federation. History Formation The concept of youth hostels originated in Germany in 1909 with Richard Schirrmann and it took 20 years for the ideas to reach fruition in the United Kingdom. In 1929/30, several groups almost simultaneously formed to investigate establishing youth hostels in the UK. Foremost among these was the Merseyside Centre of the British Youth Hostels Association. Antisocial behavior is a behavior that is defined as the violation of the rights of others by committing crime, such as stealing and physical attack in addition to other behaviors such as lying and manipulation. It is considered to be disruptive to others in society. This can be carried out in various ways, which includes, but is not limited to, intentional aggression, as well as covert and overt hostility. Outreach is the activity of providing services to any population that might not otherwise have access to those services.
