Nathan Triplett
Nathan Triplett (born March 15, 1987) is a former American football linebacker. After playing college football for Minnesota, he was drafted by the Minnesota Vikings in the fifth round of the 2010 NFL draft. He has also been a member of the San Diego Chargers and Indianapolis Colts. Early years Triplett played in the Wright County Conference, graduating from Delano High School, in Delano, Minnesota, in 2005. College career Triplett attended the University of Minnesota, where he initially was a special teams force and eventually worked his way into a dominant linebacker. In his senior season, in the first game of the year, he had possibly a game-saving interception, when vs Syracuse University in overtime he intercepted a pass in the Gophers own end zone to end the possession and give the Gophers the ball. Linebacker
Linebacker (LB) is a playing position in gridiron football. Linebackers are members of the defensive team, and line up three to five yards behind the line of scrimmage and the defensive linemen. They are the "middle ground" of defenders, playing closer to the line of scrimmage than the defensive backs (secondary), but farther back than the defensive linemen. As such, linebackers play a hybrid role and are often the most versatile players on the defensive side of the ball; they can be asked to play roles similar to either a defensive lineman (such as stopping the runner on a running play) or a defensive back (such as dropping back into pass coverage).
