Natchitoches Central High School
Natchitoches Central High School is a public high school in Natchitoches, Louisiana, United States. It is a part of the Natchitoches Parish School Board. The development of Natchitoches Central High School, like so many schools in the 1960s and early 1970s, began with Federal Court orders to desegregate the two major existing high schools in the city of Natchitoches. To insure smooth transition, the faculties of both Central High School and Natchitoches High School attended a workshop at Northwestern State University to develop curricula, attitudes, and the necessary internal organizations to promote the total school. The Natchitoches Parish School System was placed under another court order in 1981 to further desegregate its schools. This led to massive consolidation and assigned 10th through 12th grade students from Natchitoches, Allen, Provencal, Marthaville, and Robeline into the new Natchitoches Central High School facility. Natchitoches, Louisiana
Natchitoches ( ; french: link=no, Les Natchitoches) is a small city and the parish seat of Natchitoches Parish, Louisiana, United States. Established in 1714 by Louis Juchereau de St. Denis as part of French Louisiana, the community was named after the indigenous Natchitoches people. The City of Natchitoches was incorporated on February 5, 1819, after Louisiana had become a state in 1812. It is the oldest permanent settlement in the land acquired by the Louisiana Purchase. Natchitoches is home to Northwestern State University. Its sister city is Nacogdoches, Texas. Paul Foshee
Paul Lee Foshee (November 12, 1932 – November 8, 2020) was an American politician. He served as a Democratic Party (United States), Democratic member of the Louisiana House of Representatives and as a member of the Louisiana State Senate. Foshee was born in Natchitoches, Louisiana, the son of Mamie Lee Smith and George W. Foshee. He attended Natchitoches Central High School, where he graduated in 1950. He then worked as a crop duster at his own business, Foshee Dusting Company. He attended Northwestern State University, earning a bachelor's degree in business in 1961. In 1960 Foshee was elected to the Louisiana House of Representatives, serving until 1964. In 1972 Foshee was elected to the Louisiana State Senate, where he served until 1976. Foshee died in November 2020 at his home in Natchitoches, Louisiana, at the age of 87. He was buried in Fern Park Cemetery. Patrick Alan Listach (born September 12, 1967) is the former Manager of the Triple-A Tacoma Rainiers of the Pacific Coast League and a former Major League Baseball shortstop, minor league manager, and major league third base coach. Amateur career A native of Natchitoches, Louisiana, Listach is the grandson of fellow major leaguer Nora Listach. He attended Natchitoches High School and went on to McLennan Community College in Waco, Texas, where he played college baseball for the Highlanders. Joe Dumars
Joe Dumars III ( ; born May 24, 1963) is an American professional basketball executive and former player who is the executive vice president and head of basketball operations of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He could play either shooting guard or point guard on offense and was a highly effective defender. He played his entire fourteen-year career with the Detroit Pistons. During the late 1980s and early 1990s, Dumars and Isiah Thomas combined to form one of the best backcourts in NBA history.
