Nataša Đorđević ( sr-cyr, Наташа Ђорђевић) is a Serbian pop-folk singer. Her first album was released by PGP-RTS in 1994. Today, she is one of the most successful artists of the Grand Production. PGP-RTS ( sr, Produkcija gramofonskih ploča Radio televizije Srbije) is a major record label based in Belgrade, Serbia. It is a successor of PGP-RTB which was established in 1959 in Belgrade, then capital of Socialist Republic of Serbia and Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia. After the breakup of Yugoslavia, in 1993, the company changed its name to PGP-RTS, which is the music production branch of the Radio Television of Serbia. Stoja Novaković (; born 4 June 1972), known mononymously as Stoja ( sr-cyr, Стоја), is a Serbian hardcore-folk singer. Recognised as one of the most popular turbo-folk performers, Stoja is noted for her strong voice and often eccentric appearances. She released her first album, '' Kako je meni sada'', in Lazarević Production in 1998. Later, she released her albums in the record label Grand Production. Within a short time, Stoja became one of the most popular singers in the Balkans. She is currently signed to BN Music, and has recently released songs with IDJ and Balkan Star too. Jovanović started singing in 1994 when she released her first album ''Poslaću ti ljubav'' (''I'll Send You Love'') for Juvekomerc. However her first hits such as "Plakala bih i bez suza", "Džabe care", "Didarla" and "Sokole" were released during the end of the 1990s and the beginning of the 2000s. Turbo-folk (sometimes referred as pop-folk or popular folk) is subgenre of contemporary pop music with its origins in Serbia, that initially developed during the 1980s and 1990s, with similar music styles in Bulgaria (chalga), Romania (manele) and Albania (tallava). It is a fusion genre of popular music, blending Serbian folk music with other genres: such as pop, rock, electronic and some hip-hop. Background and characteristics Turbo-folk music emerged as a subculture in the countryside during the 1970s before migrating to the city in the '80s and eventually reaching further expansion in the '90s during the rule of Slobodan Milošević, Yugoslav Wars, inflation and political isolation.
