Nasum (band)
Nasum (pronounced 'nah-zumm') was a Swedish grindcore band from Örebro, formed in 1992. The band released four studio albums and developed into "one of that country's premier metal acts". They disbanded after the December 2004 tsunami killed the band's frontman, Mieszko Talarczyk. In 2012, Nasum reunited with Rotten Sound frontman Keijo Niinimaa taking the place of Talarczyk, for a one-off tour to celebrate the band's 20th anniversary. Biography Nasum was formed in 1992 by Anders Jakobson (guitar) and Rickard Alriksson (drums/vocals), two former members of the band Necrony. The band's name, Latin for "nose", was taken from the horror film ''Flesh for Frankenstein.'' The record label of Necrony offered Nasum a slot on a split 7-inch. After Mieszko Talarczyk joined the band as a guitarist in 1993, the band was featured on Blind World split EP with Agathocles. After several more splits, Nasum released an MCD (mini compact disc) of their own with Poserslaughter Records in 1995. ...

The musical sub-genre of D-beat is named after Discharge and the band's distinctive drumbeat. Grind Finale
''Grind Finale'' is a two- CD compilation album by Swedish grindcore band Nasum. It covers the band's entire career, with songs from all the 15 studio recordings between 1993 and 2004, including 21 previously-unreleased songs. The original title for the compilation was ''Blueprint for Extinction'', but after the death of Nasum frontman Mieszko Talarczyk, the remaining band members felt that the word "extinction" made the title inappropriate. The band started to think of a play on words with "Grind" somewhere in the title, and ended up with "Grind Finale" since it would be the final major release from Nasum. The lyrics of the song "Erased" are almost entirely derived from a frequently quoted passage in Pierre-Joseph Proudhon's ''The General Idea of the Revolution in the Nineteenth Century''. Napalm Death
Napalm Death are an English grindcore band formed in 1981 in Meriden, West Midlands. None of the band's original members has been in the group since 1986. But since ''Utopia Banished'' (1992), the lineup of bassist Shane Embury, guitarist Mitch Harris, drummer Danny Herrera and lead vocalist Mark "Barney" Greenway has remained consistent through most of the band's career. From 1989 to 2004, Napalm Death were a five-piece band after they added Jesse Pintado as the replacement of one-time guitarist Bill Steer. Following Pintado's departure, the band reverted to a four-piece. The band is credited as pioneers of the grindcore genre by incorporating elements of crust punk and death metal, using a noise-filled sound that uses distorted, down-tuned guitars, grinding overdrive bass, high-speed tempo, blast beats, vocals that consist of incomprehensible growls or high-pitched shrieks, extremely short songs, and sociopolitical lyrics. The band's debut album '' Scum'', released in 1987 ...
