Nasir Salé
Nasir Salé is a Mozambican basketball coach. He is the current head of the Mozambique women's national basketball team, having been the head coach since the 2007 FIBA Africa Championship for Women. He was the coach of the team when they had their first ever qualification to the FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup in 2014 FIBA World Championship for Women, 2014. He also organized basketball training camps in Ivory Coast with the Ivory Coast men's national basketball team. In 2020, he became head coach of Ferroviário de Maputo (women's basketball), Clube Ferroviário de Maputo's women's basketball team. The 2007 FIBA Africa Championship for Women was the 18th FIBA Africa Championship for Women, played under the rules of FIBA, the world governing body for basketball, and the FIBA Africa thereof. The tournament was hosted by Senegal from September 20 to 30, with the games played at the Marius Ndiaye Stadium in Dakar and at the Stade Maniang Soumaré in Thiès. The FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup, also known as the Basketball World Cup for Women or simply the FIBA Women's World Cup, is an international basketball tournament for women's national teams held quadrennially. It was created by the International Basketball Federation (FIBA). Its inaugural game was in 1953 in Chile, three years after the first men's World Championship. For most of its early history, it was not held in the same year as the men's championship, and was not granted a consistent quadrennial cycle until 1967. 2014 FIBA World Championship For Women
The 2014 FIBA World Championship for Women, the 17th edition of FIBA's premier international tournament for women's national basketball teams, was held in Ankara and Istanbul, Turkey from 27 September to 5 October 2014. This tournament implemented the new expanded free throw lane, the restricted arc, and extended 3-point line (6.6–6.75 m). The United States defended their title and won their ninth overall gold medal by beating Spain 77–64 in the final. Australia defeated Turkey 74–44 to capture the bronze medal. This was the last FIBA championship to use the name of "FIBA World Championship for Women". Ferroviário De Maputo (women's Basketball)
Clube Ferroviário de Maputo is a women's basketball club based in Maputo, Mozambique. The team competes in the Mozambican League. The team is one of the most decorated teams on the continent, having won the FIBA Africa Women's Clubs Champions Cup two times (2018 and 2019). History Ferroviário de Maputo was founded in 1924 and is operated by the country's national railway organisation. In 2018, Ferroviário won their maiden title, and their country's sixth title overall, by edging out the five-time champions Interclube of Angola, 59–56, in the finals.
