Nariman (also spelled Narriman, Nareeman, Neriman, Nəriman) is a name of Persian origin ( fa, نریمان, link=no ). It has roots traced to the Persian epic, Shahnameh, written by Ferdowsi. The name can mean "faith and brightness". It can also mean "brave, hero", with roots in the Avestan word naire-manå ("brave, manly"). In other countries, like Iran, it is used interchangeably with Nauroz, the Persian festival. In Iran and Azerbaijan it is typically a male given name, whereas in Turkey and Pakistan it is commonly female. Fali Nariman
Fali Sam Nariman (born 10 January 1929) is an Indian jurist. He is the senior advocate to the Supreme Court of India since 1971 and was the President of the Bar Association of India from 1991 to 2010. Nariman is an internationally recognised jurist on international arbitration. He has been honored with the 19th Lal Bahadur Shastri National Award for Excellence in Public Administration 2018. He is one of India's most distinguished constitutional lawyers and he has argued several leading cases. He remained Additional Solicitor General of India May 1972- June 1975. He has been awarded the Padma Bhushan (1991), Padma Vibhushan (2007) and Gruber Prize for Justice (2002) and has remained nominated member of the Rajya Sabha, the Upper House of the Parliament of India for a term (1999–2005). ''Nariman'' is a 2001 Indian Malayalam-language investigative film directed by K. Madhu and written by S. N. Swamy. It stars Suresh Gopi in the title role, with Samyuktha Varma, Siddique, Jagadish, Sadiq, Vijayakumar, Janardhanan, Jagathy Sreekumar, Spadikam George, N. F. Varghese and Rajan P. Nərimanov (also, Narimanov) is a settlement and raion in Baku, Azerbaijan. The administrative territory of the Narimanov district, one the central districts of Baku, is 24.5 km2, and its population is 170.300 in the official registration date of 01.01.2013. The Narimanov district was founded in 1941. Nariman Point is a prominent downtown area of Mumbai in Maharashtra, India. Located on the southern tip of the Mumbai peninsula, at the end of the Mumbai's Marine Drive, Nariman Point houses some of India's prestigious business headquarters.
