''Narcotics'' (french: Stupéfiants) is a 1932 German drama film directed by Kurt Gerron and Roger Le Bon and starring Jean Murat, Danièle Parola and Jean Worms. Kurt Gerron
Kurt Gerron (11 May 1897 – 28 October 1944) was a German History of the Jews in Germany, Jewish actor and film director. He and his wife, Olga were murdered in the Holocaust. Life Born Kurt Gerson into a well-off merchant family in Berlin, he studied medicine before being called up for military service in World War I. After being seriously wounded, he was qualified as a military doctor in the German Army (German Empire), German Army, despite having been only in his second year at university. After the war Gerron turned to a stage career, becoming a theatre actor under director Max Reinhardt in 1920. He appeared in secondary roles in several silent films and began directing film shorts in 1926. Gerron's popular cinema breakthrough came with ''The Blue Angel'' (''Der Blaue Engel'', 1930) opposite Marlene Dietrich. Marguerite Hélène Barbe Elisabeth Constantine Lion (28 February 1899 – 24 February 1989), known as Margo Lion, was a Jewish singer and actress. She was born in Constantinople during Ottoman rule. She moved to Berlin after World War I with her father to join the school of Russian ballet. When the Nazi Party rose to power in 1933 she moved to France to flee antisemitic persecution. She was a successful chanteuse, parodist, cabaret singer, and actress, best known for her role as Pirate Jenny in director G. W. Louis Brody
Louis Brody (born Ludwig M'bebe Mpessa; 15 February 1896 – 11 February 1951) was a Cameroonian-born German film actor, musician and showfighter. Brody was born in Douala, in the German colony of Kamerun, now Cameroon. His career began in the 1920s after he moved to Germany and lasted uninterrupted throughout the Nazi regime till his death in 1951. Brody engaged also in political work in favour of Afro-Germans as part of the African Aid Organisation, established by and for Afro-Germans living in Germany. In 1938 he married a woman from Danzig. Brody remained active and successful as an artist during World War II.
