Naptown Roller Girls
Naptown Roller Derby (NRD) is a women's flat-track roller derby league based in Indianapolis, Indiana. Founded in 2006, the league started their 10th season in March 2016. Naptown Roller Derby is a member of the Women's Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA). The home bouts of Naptown Roller Derby are held at the Indiana State Fairgrounds in Indianapolis. League history Naptown Roller Girls first formed in 2006, with ad hoc practices in public spaces, and first held a competitive bout in 2007. Naptown was announced as a member of the WFTDA in December 2007. By early 2008 NRG was repeatedly selling out events at the Indiana State Fairgrounds, with nearly 4,500 in attendance on February 9 of that year. Naptown's top attendance mark was 4,978 at the Pepsi Coliseum with average attendance of 3,500 as of 2011. Women's Flat Track Derby Association Division 2
The Women's Flat Track Derby Association Division 2 (WFTDA Division 2) was the second-highest level of play in women's flat track roller derby from 2013 through 2017. Comprising different structures over that time, in early 2018 the Women's Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA) announced it was replacing the Division 2 Playoffs with geographically-based Continental Cups, the structure and quantity of which is expected to adjust and possibly expand over time. Sun King Brewing is a brewery in the Cole-Noble District of Indianapolis, Indiana, United States. It is the largest brewery in Indianapolis and the second largest brewery in the state. In 2011, Sun King won eight medals, including four gold medals, total at the Great American Beer Festival. Sun King was the first commercial brewery to open up in approximately 30 years in Indianapolis. History Sun King Brewing was founded in July, 2009 by Dave Colt and Clay Robinson. The Women's Flat Track Derby Association Division 1 (WFTDA Division 1) is the highest level of play in women's flat track roller derby. North Central Region (WFTDA)
The Women's Flat Track Derby Association's North Central Region was formed in 2008 when WFTDA changed from having just two regional tournaments (East and West), to five, made up of teams from four regions: East, North Central, South Central and West. Members in the central part of the Canada Region competed in the North Central Region. For 2011, the region was reduced in size, with teams in Nebraska moving to the South Central Region. Women's Flat Track Derby Association Rankings
Rankings for the Women's Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA) are used to determine placement in overall standings (rather than win–loss record) and also to determine seedings at WFTDA Playoffs. Achieving high rankings is also a goal for teams aiming to increase their stature in the organization. Each year at the end of June, teams are seeded into Division 1 and Division 2 playoff tournaments. Historically, the top 40 teams in the WFTDA as of June 30 were eligible for Division 1 tournaments that season, and the teams ranked 41–60 were eligible for Division 2 tournaments. For 2017, the Division 1 cutoff was reduced to the top 36 teams, with the next 16 teams qualifying for Division 2 Playoffs. Dublin Roller Derby (DRD) is a women's flat track roller derby league based in Dublin, Ireland. Founded in 2009, Dublin Roller Derby is a member of the Women's Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA). History The Dublin Roller Girls were the first roller derby league to form in Ireland. Their intra-league bout in June 2011 was the first public roller derby in the country. In their first bouting season, the Dublin Roller Girls played seven bouts, scoring four wins.
