Naples is an unincorporated area in Santa Barbara County, California, United States on the south portion of the Gaviota Coast. Also known as Dos Pueblos Ranch, it is located on U.S. Highway 101 west-northwest of Isla Vista. Mikiw
Mikiw was a Native American village of the Chumash people located in the modern-day county of Santa Barbara, California in the United States. In 1602, the Sebastián Vizcaíno expedition stopped by the Goleta Valley and the nearby Chumash village of ''Mikiw''. The village was situated on the Pacific coast, at the site of the current Dos Pueblos in the present day city of Goleta, California. The David Rumsey Historical Map Collection is a large private map collection with over 150,000 maps and cartographic items. The collection was created by David Rumsey who, after making his fortune in real estate, focused initially on collecting 18th- and 19th century maps of North and South America, as this era "saw the rise of modern cartography." Isla Vista is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) in Santa Barbara County, California in the United States. As of 2020 census, the community had a population of 15,500. The Gaviota Coast in Santa Barbara County, California is a rural coastline along the Santa Barbara Channel roughly bounded by the city of Goleta on the south and the north boundary of the county on the north. Area codes 805 and 820 are telephone area codes in the U.S. state of California. 805 was split from area code 213 in 1957.
