Nap Televízió is a privately-owned producer of television programmes. Magyar Televízió (''Hungarian Television'') or MTV is a nationwide public television broadcasting organization in Hungary. Headquartered in Budapest, it is the oldest television broadcaster in Hungary and today airs five channels: M1 HD, M2 HD, M3, M4 Sport and M5. MTV is managed and primarily funded by the Media Service Support and Asset Management Fund ( hu, Médiaszolgáltatás-támogató és Vagyonkezelő Alap, abbreviated MTVA). This government organization, formed in 2011, also manages the public service broadcasters Magyar Rádió and Duna Televízió as well as the Hungarian news agency Magyar Távirati Iroda. Nap-kelte (Sunrise) was a long-running Hungarian daily morning programme, and the flagship programme of its producer, Nap TV, a privately owned producer of television programmes from Hungary. It was continuously broadcast on-air for 20 years, from 1989 to 2009, most famously, on M1, the then-flagship channel of public broadcaster Magyar Televízió, except for a period of time between 1999 and 2002, when its programmes were broadcast by the privately owned TV3; after such station went bankrupt, the show moved to ATV, before returning to M1 on 2002, where it stayed until its final broadcast. At one point, the show was also broadcast simultaneously on sister channel M2, which broadcast a sister show, ''Nap-nyugta'' (Sunset), which repurposed segments from the main broadcast. Magyar ATV
ATV (formerly known as Magyar ATV) is the first Hungarian private TV channel, broadcasting continuously since 1989, with a focus on news, public life, and current events. Licensed as a partially public service commercial television station, it is obliged to broadcast public interest programs (news, current affairs, sports, religion) 50% of the time. Because of this special status, the channel is eligible to apply for grants from the government and the radio and television authority. As of 2003 the owner of the channel is the Hungarian Faith Church. It is the first private TV channel in Hungary, being established in late 1989 and airing ever since.
