Naomh Bríd GAA
Naomh Bríd is a Gaelic Athletic Association club located in Leighlinbridge, County Carlow, Ireland. The club is solely concerned with the game of hurling. History Located in the town of Leighlinbridge, County Carlow, Naomh Bríd was founded in February 1996 when Parnells of Leighlinbridge and St. Fintan's of Ballinabranna decided to amalgamate. Former Wexford hurler, Christy Keogh, was the team's first manager and, after a practice game against Marshalstown, their first competitive game was against losing 1995 finalists Carlow Town in the Bolger Cup. Their inaugural season yielded the ultimate in terms of club success, when the Carlow SHC title was secured after a defeat of St. Mullin's. The club claimed further Carlow SHC titles in 2004 and 2008 and has the distinction of having never lost a final. The Carlow County Board of the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) ( ga, Cumann Luthchleas Gael Coiste Ceatharlach) or Carlow GAA is one of the 32 county boards of the GAA in Ireland, and is responsible for Gaelic games in County Carlow and the Carlow county teams. The Carlow county football team play in the Leinster Senior Football Championship and in Division 3 of the Allianz Football League for 2019. 2023 Joe McDonagh Cup
The 2023 Joe McDonagh Cup is due to be the sixth staging of the Joe McDonagh Cup since its establishment by the Gaelic Athletic Association in 2018 Joe McDonagh Cup, 2018. Antrim county hurling team, Antrim, winner of the 2022 Joe McDonagh Cup, 2022 final, were promoted to the Leinster Senior Hurling Championship, replaced by Laois county hurling team, Laois who were relegated back to this competition. The Joe McDonagh Cup is an annual Inter county, inter-county hurling competition organised by the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA). It forms the second tier of the All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship and is the second highest level of inter-county championship hurling competition in Ireland. Fiach O'Toole
Fiach O'Toole (born 2002) is an Irish hurler. At club level he plays with Naomh Bríd, while he has also lined out at inter-county level with various Carlow teams. Career O'Toole first played hurling at juvenile and underage levels with the Naomh Bríd club in Leighlinbridge. He subsequently progressed to adult level and was part of the club's intermediate team that won the Carlow IHC title in 2021. O'Toole first appeared on the inter-county scene with Carlow during a two-year tenure with the minor team in 2018 and 2019. He later spent a number of seasons with the under-20 team and was the team's top scorer in 2022. By this stage, O'Toole had already joined the Carlow senior hurling team. All-Ireland Senior B Hurling Championship
The All-Ireland Senior B Hurling Championship was an annual hurling competition organised by the Gaelic Athletic Association between 1974 and 2004 for the so-called 'weaker' hurling teams in Ireland. The teams now play in the Joe McDonagh Cup (Tier 2 of the All Ireland Championship). The series of games began every year immediately after the completion of the National Hurling League with the All-Ireland final being played in June or July, initially in Croke Park, Dublin but later in provincial venues around the country and in United Kingdom, Britain. Johnny Nevin is a former dual player from County Carlow, Ireland. He played Gaelic football and hurling with Carlow between the late 1980s and the 2000s. Leighlinbridge (; ) is a small town on the River Barrow in County Carlow, Ireland. The N9 National primary route once passed through the village, which was by-passed in the 1980s. Christy Keogh
Christy Keogh (29 June 1943 – 19 July 2002) was an Irish hurler who played as a left corner-forward at senior level for the Wexford county team. Born in Enniscorthy, County Wexford, Keogh arrived on the inter-county scene at the age of twenty-eight when he first linked up with the Wexford senior team. He made his debut in the 1971 championship. Keogh went on to play a key part for the rest of the decade, and won two Leinster medals and one National Hurling League medal.
