Nantlle Vale F.C ( cy, Clwb Pêl-droed Dyffryn Nantlle) are a Welsh football club from Penygroes, near Caernarfon, formed around 1920. They play in the Ardal Leagues North West, which is at tier three of the Welsh football pyramid History They were notorious in the early 1970s for their very robust style of play, when the team featured noted hard men such as player-manager Orig Williams – a professional wrestler by trade, who fought under the stage name El Bandito – and defender Idris Evans, better known by his nickname of ''Tarw Nefyn'' (''the Nefyn Bull''). Williams was once famously sent off in only the third minute of a match at Bangor City. His autobiography Cario'r Ddraig was published in the 1990s. Alun Ffred Jones
Alun Ffred Jones (born 29 October 1949) is a Welsh politician and member of Plaid Cymru and former television producer, writer and director. Jones was the National Assembly for Wales Member for Caernarfon 2003–07 and for the newly created Arfon constituency from 2007 until he stood down in 2016. He served as Minister for Heritage between 2008 and 2011 as part of the One Wales Government. In 2008 he made history by being the first UK representative to speak in the Welsh language at a meeting of the European Union. He was Chairman of Plaid Cymru from October 2019 until he resigned in July 2022. Background Jones was born in Brynamman and is the brother of former Plaid Cymru President and folk singer Dafydd Iwan. The Caernarfon & District League was a football league covering the Caernarfon and surrounding areas in North Wales. League History The league was a renamed version Bangor & District League that had run between 1930 and 1937 and again after the Second World War, between 1945 and 1950. The change in name reflected the changing geographic locations of clubs playing in the league. Nefyn
Nefyn (, archaically anglicised as Nevin) is both a small town and a community on the northwest coast of the LlÅ·n Peninsula, Gwynedd, Wales. Nefyn is popular with visitors for its sandy beach, and has one substantial hotel. The A497 road terminates in the town centre. The community includes Edern and Morfa Nefyn. In 2011, the population was 2,602, with Nefyn itself having 1,373 people. History The history of the area can be traced back to 300 BC with the Iron Age hillfort of Garn Boduan overlooking Nefyn. The remains of 170 round stone huts and ramparts are still visible on top of the hill. The earliest known reference to Nefyn in documents dates from the latter part of the 11th century, when it is mentioned as a landing place of the Welsh prince, Gruffudd ap Cynan.
