Nancy Cooperstein
Nancy Cooperstein Charney is an American theatrical producer and television director. Directing and producing She produced the original Broadway production of Lanford Wilson's Pulitzer-prize winning play - Talley's Folly - and the Emmy-nominated and Wilbur Award-winner - Snow in August - based on the book by Pete Hamil. She produced Viet Rock, written by Megan Terry in 1966, which was the first of the anti-Viet Nam plays produced in New York City. As a director of television, Cooperstein's work includes the LA Emmy award-winning film, Pioneer Women and the ABC Afternoon Special - UNDER THE LIMIT. In 1992 she directed an episode of The Wonder Years titled "Carnal Knowledge". It was the 19th episode of the fifth series. Cooperstein Charney's film work includes the short film – Private Debts - that was featured at Sundance, London, Deauville and Toronto Film Festivals. Jordan Charney
Jordan Charney (born April 1, 1937) is an American character actor. Many of his earliest roles were on daytime television, with appearances in numerous soaps. Jordan created the role of creepy Julian Dark in the early to mid-1960s on the CBS soap, ''The Secret Storm''. He played Sam Lucas, a former convict who became a lawyer, in both '' Another World'' and its spin-off ''Somerset'', playing the role from 1967 to 1974. He also appeared as Lt. Vince Wolek on ''One Life to Live'' (1975–1977). Other roles were on ''Love of Life'' and ''All My Children''. WEVD
WEVD was an American brokered programming radio station with some news-talk launched in August 1927 by the Socialist Party of America. Making use of the initials of recently deceased party leader Eugene Victor Debs in its call sign, the station operated from Woodhaven in the New York City borough of Queens. The station was purchased with a $250,000 radio fund raised by the Socialist Party in its largest fundraising effort of the 1920s and was intended to spread progressive ideas to a mass audience. A number of national trade unions and other institutions aided the Socialists in obtaining the station. David Rothenberg is a veteran Broadway producer and prisoners' rights activist. After reading the script for ''Fortune and Men's Eyes'' by former prisoner and playwright John Herbert, he was instrumental in producing the play for an off-Broadway production. Later, he was a civilian observer during the Attica Prison riot, which left a deep impression on him and spurred his lifelong activism for prisoner's rights. This inspired him to found the Fortune Society organization, which advocates for prisoner's rights and works with former inmates to aid them in adjusting to life after prison.
