Nana Klutse
Nana Ama Browne Klutse was born on 23 May 1981 at Nyanfeku Ekroful. She had her primary education at the Anomabo Methodist Primary and JHS. She continued to Mfantsiman Girls Secondary school and later went to University of Cape Coast in Ghana to read BSc Physics. She pursued her PhD Climatology at University of Cape Town in South Africa. Scientific career Dr Klutse studies climate dynamics of West Africa. Her work focuses on climate science and development specifically on the African monsoon. She is a senior lecturer at the Department of Physics, University of Ghana. In the past, she managed the Remote Sensing and Climate Centre. Klutse is a Climate Science Fellow of the African Institute for Mathematical Sciences and a lead author contributing to the IPCC Sixth Assessment Report (AR6). IPCC Sixth Assessment Report
The Sixth Assessment Report (AR6) of the United Nations (UN) Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) is the sixth in a series of reports which assess scientific, technical, and socio-economic information concerning climate change. Three Working Groups (WGI, II, and III) have been working on the following topics: The Physical Science Basis (WGI); Impacts, Adaptation and Vulnerability (WGII); Mitigation of Climate Change (WGIII). African Monsoon
A monsoon () is traditionally a seasonal reversing wind accompanied by corresponding changes in precipitation but is now used to describe seasonal changes in atmospheric circulation and precipitation associated with annual latitudinal oscillation of the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) between its limits to the north and south of the equator. National Democratic Congress (Ghana)
The National Democratic Congress (NDC) is a social democratic political party in Ghana, founded by Jerry Rawlings, who was Head of State of Ghana from 1981 to 1993 and the President of Ghana from 1993 to 2001. Following the formation of the Provisional National Defence Council (PNDC), which ruled Ghana following the military coup d'état on 31 December 1981, there was pressure from the international community to restore democracy. The NDC was formed as the ruling party ahead of elections in 1992, in which Rawlings was elected president, and in 1996 Rawlings was re-elected as the NDC candidate.
