Namibia At The Rugby World Cup
Namibia has competed in seven Rugby World Cup tournaments, having qualified as the African representative. The Namibian rugby union team, nicknamed the ''Welwitschias'' after the Namibian national symbol, made their first appearance at the Rugby World Cup in 1999 and appeared at the following six tournaments. Namibia has so far played 26 games at that cup without ever winning one. Namibia's best match result was in 2015 when they lost to Georgia by a single point. Namibia's worst match result was in 2003 when they lost to Australia 0-142, which is the record of the biggest winning margin. So far Namibia has not hosted any World Cup games. 2019 Rugby World Cup
The 2019 Rugby World Cup was the ninth edition of the Rugby World Cup, the quadrennial world championship for men's rugby union teams. It was hosted in Japan from 20 September to 2 November in 12 venues all across the country. The opening match was played at Ajinomoto Stadium in Chōfu, Tokyo, with the final match being held at International Stadium Yokohama in Yokohama. This was the first time that the tournament had taken place in Asia and outside the traditional Tier 1 rugby nations. Johannes Hendrik "Heino" Senekal (born 20 October 1975 in Tsumeb) is a retired Namibian rugby union lock. Senekal competed for the Namibia national rugby union team at the 1999 Rugby World Cup finals, 2003 Rugby World Cup finals and the 2007 Rugby World Cup finals, playing 10 matches in aggregate. Waisale Tikoisolomoni Serevi (born 20 May 1968) is a Fijian former rugby union football player and coach, and is a member of the World Rugby Hall of Fame. Serevi is renowned for his achievements in rugby sevens, while also enjoying a long career in fifteen-a-side rugby at both club and national team levels. Nicknamed "The Wizard" by commentators, he is widely considered to be the greatest rugby sevens player in the history of the game. Greg Smith (rugby Union, Born 1974)
Gregory James Smith (born 14 July 1974) is a former professional rugby union footballer, who played as a hooker. Career Smith was born and raised in New Zealand but he qualified to play for Fiji because his father was born there. He was first selected for Fiji by former coach Brad Johnstone on the recommendation of Waikato's John Boe. He toured the UK with the Fiji team in 1995 and he made his debut against Wales which Fiji lost by 21–22. He joined the Waikato Rugby Union after that and he made it into the Chiefs squad for the Super 12 competition. He played for the Chiefs for six years before leaving New Zealand and going to Europe to play for the Swansea club in Wales. Viliame Satala (born 19 July 1972 in Lautoka) is a Fijian rugby union footballer. He plays as a Centre (rugby union), centre or Wing (rugby union), wing. His nickname is "The Stretcher" for his ability to flatten opposition players. Satala was named the best outside centre of the 1999 World Cup by Stephen Jones (rugby player), Stephen Jones. Jacob Rauluni
Jacob Rauluni (born 25 June 1972) is a former International Rugby Union player who comes from a family of international halfbacks. His father, Taito, played halfback for Fiji, as did his brother Mosese and his first cousin Waisale Serevi, who also started his career at halfback. Rauluni played for the Queensland Reds from 1995 to 2002 and he played for Fiji from 1995 to 2006. He had an extended spell playing rugby in the UK, and is best known for helping Rotherham Titans win promotion to the Premiership. In 2006 he played three tests for The Barbarians.
