Ernst Rückert
Anton Ernst Rückert (20 December 1886 – 3 September 1945) was a German stage and film actor. Rückert began his theatre career in 1908 and has appeared on the stage in Bleicherode, Königsberg and Kiel, among others. In 1910 he took up an engagement at the Luisentheatre in Berlin. From 1910 he was a sought-after silent film actor, initially in leading roles. In 1912 he played the first officer of the Titanic in the film ''In Nacht und Eis''. From 1914 to 1917 he served in the military in the First World War. He then continued his film career and continued to receive leading roles and important supporting roles. In the 1930s, Rückert became a character actor in film, and he only rarely received engagements in the theatre. Valerie Boothby
Valerie Boothby (born Wally Drucker, 18 October 1904 – 14 April 1982) was a German actress, painter, and writer. Biography Valerie Boothby was born Wally Drucker on 18 October 1904 in Hamburg-Mitte, Hamburg, in what was then the German Empire, although some sources list her birth year as 1906. Her father was Ernst Drucker (1856–1918), an actor and theater owner. She was the oldest of three daughters and was of German-Jewish ancestry. She made her film debut in 1926 in The Clever Fox, directed by Conrad Wiene, and went on to appear in 22 more films, mainly typecast as a vamp, before retiring in 1931. Upon the rise of the Nazis in 1933, Boothby left Berlin and settled in France. She also lived in Cairo, Egypt for 15 years before returning to Hamburg in 1970, where she died on 14 April 1982. Ida Wüst (; 10 October 1884 – 4 October 1958) was a German stage and film actress whose career was prominent in the 1920s and 1930s with Universum Film AG (UFA). Life and career Little is known about Ida Wüst's early childhood. She discovered early the world of theater, and decided to make it her career. After attending secondary school in Frankfurt am Main, Wüst took acting lessons from Thessa Klinghammer and at the age of 16 received her first engagement at the StadtTheatre of Colmar, and further stage productions in Bromberg, and in 1904 performed extensively in Leipzig. In 1907 she became a member of the ensemble of the Lessing-Theater in Berlin, where she performed roles in ''Hosenrollen'' (roles in which women impersonate men in trousers), and comedies and became sought after actress.
