Namah (Thaikkudam Bridge Album)
''Namah'' () is a 2019 studio album produced by the band Thaikkudam Bridge. Following the success of their studio album ''Navarasam'', the band started working on the album during March 2017, and was officially revealed to the public and the media in August 2017. The album is considered as a "tribute to various renowned artists that influenced and inspired their music and made them who they are today". It was considered as the band's "most ambitious project" and had planned to rope international and national musical artists who were renowned for their works in the Indian Music, Indian and world music. The process made the team to delay the prospects of the album until they completed recording and compiling the entire album within September 2019. Before the official album launch on 30 November 2019, Thaikkudam Bridge unveiled two songs as singles in order to have a glimpse for the album. Thaikkudam Bridge
Thaikkudam Bridge is a Kerala-based multi-genre music band, founded and formed in 2013 by Govind Vasantha and Siddharth Menon. The band first became famous through the musical show ''Music Mojo'', which used to telecast on Kappa TV and with their own composition ''"Fish Rock"'', which became popular through social networking sites and YouTube. According to sources within the band, the band literally had its inception near Thaikkudam Bridge at Thaikkudam, Kochi, in early 2013. Since then, the band has gone on to win numerous awards, perform at over 400 venues and released their own album. Mohan Veena
Mohan veena refers to either of two distinct plucked string instruments used in Indian classical music, especially Hindustani classical music which is associated with the northern parts of the Indian subcontinent. The first of these was a mix of the sarod, veena and surbahar, developed in 1948 by Radhika Mohan Maitra. In 1949, Thakur Jaidev Singh, the then chief producer of All India Radio, named the instrument ‘Mohan veena’ after him. Pandit Maitra performed 22 national programs and several AIR recordings with the instrument before his untimely death in 1981. These recordings are treasures of AIR archives and now available in public domain. Rashid Khan (musician)
Ustad Rashid Khan (born 1 July 1968) is an Indian classical musician in the Hindustani music tradition. He belongs to the Rampur-Sahaswan gharana, and is the great-grandson of gharana founder Inayat Hussain Khan. He is married to Soma Khan. In a story told in several versions, Pandit Bhimsen Joshi once remarked that Rashid Khan was the "assurance for the future of Indian vocal music". The SRA site gives the Bhimsen Joshi accolade as: "One of the most notable torchbearers of the Hindustani classical tradition in the twenty first century" He was awarded the Padma Shri, as well as the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award in 2006. Pandit Niladri Kumar is an Indian sitar player and music composer. Early life He was born to sitar player Kartick Kumar, a disciple of Ravi Shankar. He started learning sitar under his father at the age of four. Kumar gave his first public performance at the age of six at Sri Aurobindo Ashram in Pondicherry. Career He was a part of the Masters of the Percussion tour alongside Zakir Hussain. Kumar has also worked with Jonas Hellborg and V. The sitar ( or ; ) is a plucked stringed instrument, originating from the Indian subcontinent, used in Hindustani classical music. The instrument was invented in medieval India, flourished in the 18th century, and arrived at its present form in 19th-century India. Khusrau Khan, an 18th century figure of Mughal Empire has been identified by modern scholarship as the originator of Sitar.
