Nalaya Manithan
''Naalai Manithan'' () is a 1989 Tamil-language science fiction horror film written and directed by Velu Prabhakaran. The film was produced by Thakkali Srinivasan under the banner Perfect Productions. Premi–Srini composed the music for the film. It stars Ajay Rathnam playing the titular role with Prabhu, Amala and Jaishankar playing the protagonist roles. The film was inspired from the American film ''Silent Rage'' directed by Michael Miller. The film was remade in Kannada as ''Manava 2022''. Plot In 2008 in Chennai, a doctor invents a drug which gives back life to the dead if injected within two hours of death. He works along with two other doctors. They experiment on the dead body of an orphan and succeed. Unknown to them, the drug induces side effects which makes the recipient immortal and, at the same time, feral and murderous. Velu Prabhakaran
Velu Prabakaran is an Indian filmmaker, cinematographer and actor. He is known for his themes highlighting atheism and revolutionary subjects in his films. Career Velu Prabakaran began as a cinematographer before making his directorial debut with the 1989 horror film ''Nalaya Manithan'', before also directing its sequel ''Adhisaya Manithan'' (1990). He then made two more consecutive action films under R. K. Selvamani's production in '' Asuran'' and '' Rajali'', with both becoming box office failures. He then worked on action films with lead characters, who often featured as a revolutionary, making '' Kadavul'' (1997), ''Sivan'' (1999) and '' Puratchikkaaran'' (2000). In 2000, he began pre-production on a film titled ''Deepavali'' and approached Kamal Haasan to play the lead role. However, the actor's rejection meant that the project was later shelved. Jai Ganesh
Jai Ganesh (1946 – 11 February 2001) was an Indian Tamil film actor. He had supporting roles in the films ''Aval Oru Thodar Kathai'' and ''Attukara Alamelu'', among others. His most popular roles have been as a supporting actor or as a villain in films such as '' Thaayillamal Naan Illai'' (1979) and ''Athisaya Piravi'' (1990). He was introduced into the film industry by director K. Balachander in ''Aval Oru Thodar Kathai''. From then on, he acted in many films as hero and also as character actor. ''Adhisaya Manithan'' () is a 1990 Tamil-language slasher film, produced by Thakkali Srinivasan and directed by Velu Prabhakaran. It is a sequel to ''Nalaya Manithan'' (1989). The film stars Gautami in the lead role, among others. Plot Gautami and her friends come to a deserted mansion and slowly encounter horror in the form of the devil man who would come alive and kill one by one until Gautami escapes from the devil. The ending is heavily borrowed from The Terminator. The ending shows that the story would continue, hinting at a third sequel. However, due to heavy losses incurred, the movie did not have any further sequel.
