Nalaka Godahewa
Nalaka Godahewa, Member of Parliament, MP (Sinhala language, Sinhala: නාලක ගොඩහේවා, Tamil language, Tamil: நாலக கொடஹேவா, born 7 June 1965) is a Sri Lankan politician, former Cabinet Minister, and former corporate executive. He served as the Ministry of Information and Mass Media, Minister of Mass Media from the 18th of April 2022 until his resignation on the 9th of May 2022. In addition to this, he is a member of parliament for the Gampaha District. He had served as the Chairman, Securities Exchange Commission (August 2012–January 2015); Chairman, Sri Lanka Tourism (2010–2012); and Managing Director, Sri Lanka Insurance (2006–2009). Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP; ) is a Marxist–Leninist communist party and a former militant organization in Sri Lanka. The movement was involved in two armed uprisings against the government of Sri Lanka: once in 1971 (SLFP), and another in 1987–89 ( UNP). The motive for both uprisings was to establish a socialist state. The JVP was initially a small organisation that became a well-organised party that could influence mainstream politics. Its members campaigned openly for the left-wing coalition government, United Front. The Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) was founded in 1911. It has over 30,000 members, including more than 3,000 registered Chartered Marketers.
