''Naked Food'' is a quarterly magazine focusing on whole-food plant-based nutrition. It features health information, nutrition and food related news, recipes, interviews, events, and product, book, and film reviews. It was founded as a digital publication in 2012 by Margarita Restrepo, and transitioned to a printed publication in the spring of 2014. The name stands for "new American kind and enlightened diet." Fort Lauderdale () is a coastal city located in the U.S. state of Florida, north of Miami along the Atlantic Ocean. John Robbins (born October 26, 1947) is an American author, who popularized the links among nutrition, environmentalism, and animal rights. He is the author of the 1987 ''Diet for a New America'', an exposé on connections between diet, physical health, Cruelty to Animals, animal cruelty, and environmentalism. Biography Robbins is the son of Irma Robbins and Irv Robbins, co-founder of Baskin-Robbins. He is of Jewish descent. A plant-based diet is a diet consisting mostly or entirely of plant-based foods.
