Najimedenov Street
Jumeken Sabiruli Najimedenov ( kk, Жұмекен Сабырұлы Нәжімеденов, Jūmeken Sаbyrūly Näjımedenov, ; 1935–1983) was a Kazakh poet. He was born in Kurmangazy District, in Atyrau Province. In 1956, he wrote the lyrics of the Kazakh patriotic song " My Kazakhstan" along with Shamshi Kaldayakov, who composed the music. Menıñ Qazaqstanym
The state anthem of the Republic of Kazakhstan,, , simply referred to in Kazakh language, Kazakh as "Menıñ Qazaqstanym", became the national anthem of Kazakhstan on 7 January 2006, replacing the Anthem of the Republic of Kazakhstan, previous one since Kazakhstan#Independence, independence in 1991, which used the same melody as the anthem of the Kazakh Soviet Socialist Republic. It is based on a homonymous patriotic song created by Kazakh composer Shamshi Kaldayakov and poet Jumeken Najimedenov in 1956. The original lyrics were modified in 2005 by the first president of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, before the decree was issued. He started playing music aged 17 and mainly wrote songs in a waltz style, but in 1956, he composed the music to the patriotic song My Kazakhstan.
