Irini Merkouri ( gr, Ειρήνη Μερκούρη, ; born in Ilion, Athens, on May 26, 1981) is a Greek pop and laïka singer of Romani origin. Career Early life Merkouri was born and raised in Ilion, Athens to Hellenized-Romani parents.
