Nahne
Nahne is a district in the south of Osnabrück, Germany with a population of 2,241 residents (as of 31 October 2009), thus making it the city's smallest district in terms of population. It covers an area of 4.854 km2. Geography To the north Nahne borders on the district of Schölerberg, on Kalkhügel to the north-west, Sutthausen to the west and Voxtrup to the east. Georgsmarienhütte’s Harderberg district shares a border with Nahne to the south. The district's terrain is hilly – it is positioned between the Schölerberg and the Osterberg (127 m and 173 m above sea level respectively. Most of its land area is used for agricultural purposes. The district is divided along a north–south axis by the Iburger Straße (Bundesstraße 51 and Bundesstraße 68) and an east–west axis by Bundesautobahn 30. Osnabrück () is a districts of Germany, district (''Landkreis'') in the southwest of Lower Saxony, Germany. With 2,122 km² it is the second largest district of Lower Saxony. History The district in its present form was established on July 1, 1972 by merging the former districts of Melle, Germany, Melle, Bersenbrück (Samtgemeinde), Bersenbrück and Wittlage, and most of the old district of Osnabrück. Eight municipalities (Atter, Pye, Hellern, Nahne, Voxtrup, Darum, Gretesch and Lüstringen) were merged with the city of Osnabrück in the same year. The former district of Osnabrück had already been enlarged with the district of Bad Iburg, Iburg in 1932. The 1972 local government reform also led to a considerable decrease of the number of municipalities. Schölerberg is a district of Osnabrück, Germany, with approximately 13,900 residents. Location The district of Schölerberg is located in the south of Osnabrück. The only stream running through this district is the Riedenbach, flowing in a northerly direction and almost completely canalised up to a short section between the Waldpark Schölerberg (Schölerberg Forest Park) and the Vila-Real-Platz.
