Nahid Hagigat
Nahid Hagigat or Nahid Haghighat (b. 1943; fa, ناهید حقیقت) is an Iranian-American illustrator, printmaker and artist, located in New York City. She is well known for her paintings and prints with layered imagery. Biography Hagigat was born in 1943 in Iran. She studied at Tehran University and moved to New York to continue her art education at the New York University in 1968. In the early 1970s she studied Fine Arts at New York University (NYU) and met her husband, artist Nicky Nodjoumi while in school. In the 70s she was also "one of the few female artists to address political issues at the time." She has a Ph.D. in Art Education from New York University (NYU) and a Ph.D. from Huntington Pacific University in Behavioral Therapy. Her work is part of the permanent collection at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. New York University
New York University (NYU) is a private research university in New York City. Nicky Nodjoumi
Nikzad Nodjoumi, more commonly known as Nicky Nodjoumi (born 1942) is an Iranian-born American fine art painter. He currently lives and works in Brooklyn, New York. His paintings address Iranian politics, history, power and corruption. Early life Nikzad Nodjoumi was born in 1942 in Kermanshah, Iran. In 1961, he studied Fine Arts at the School of Fine Art at Tehran University and in 1969 studied English at The New School in New York. In 1969, he came to the United States initially to have surgery in the Bronx for a congenital heart defect. He married artist, Nahid Hagigat in 1973. In 1974, he received his Master's degree in Fine Arts from the City College of New York. Career He returned to Iran after his studies and was making artwork and posters that criticized the Shah's regime. Markéta Irglová () (born 28 February 1988) is a Czech-Icelandic singer-songwriter, musician and actress, who starred in the film ''Once'', which earned her a number of major awards, including the Academy Award for Best Original Song for "Falling Slowly", with co-writer and co-star Glen Hansard. Early life Irglová began taking piano lessons at age 7 and began playing the guitar at age 8. Career Irglová is a member of the band The Swell Season with Glen Hansard.
